Child continues to remain in critical state
Meanwhile, KIMS Secunderabad, where the boy is undergoing treatment, released a second statement on Friday (December 6, 2024) in which they said that he continues to remain critical.
“The child presented with low oxygen saturation and irregular breathing requiring immediate intubation and ventilation. MRI brain of the child was showing changes of perinatal insult, with no new hypoxic changes with CT chest showing changes related to aspiration,” the statement read.
The hospital informed that the child is on a mechanical ventilator requiring minimal settings and minimal ionotropic support, neurologically improving with no clinical seizures. The child has persistent fever spikes necessitating higher antibiotics. The child has been started on NG feeds which he is tolerating well with adequate urine output showing some glimpse of hope. However, the condition remains critical, and the patient is under intensive care and close monitoring as the medical team works to stabilise him further,” the statement added.
