In a candid interview, Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, has shared her reflections on the younger generation of her illustrious family, focusing particularly on her cousin Aaradhya Bachchan, daughter of actor Abhishek Bachchan. On the sidelines of promoting the latest season of her podcast ‘What The Hell Navya?’, the starlet has expressed nothing but admiration for Aaradhya’s precocious intelligence and awareness.
Navya Naveli Nanda, already known for her progressive outlook and advocacies, is often in the limelight for her contributions to discussions on societal issues and her entrepreneurial ventures. She has paved her own path as a change-maker and is now giving a nod of acknowledgment to the wisdom depicted by the younger Bachchan, Aaradhya.
As Navya navigates through various ventures including her podcast, which she hosts alongside her mother, Shweta Bachchan, and grandmother, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, she often touches upon matters of personal growth, family dynamics, and the embracing of generational differences. During a heartfelt exchange with News18, Navya revealed her thoughts regarding the advice she could possibly offer to her twelve-year-old sister-in-the-arms, Aaradhya.
Her revelation was surprising yet befitting of the young prodigy’s demeanor: “I don’t know if I would give her advice. I feel she’s far wiser than I was when I was 12. She’s very intelligent, and I think more aware of things than I was maybe at her age. It’s actually great to see that entire generation grow up being so much more aware of the world, so much more aware of society and things around them. So, I don’t know what advice I would give her.”
The admiration did not stop there. Navya elaborated on Aaradhya’s insightful nature saying, “I just admire her that at such a young age, she is so aware of things and she’s very wise. Just happy to have a younger sister in the house to share things with, but I don’t think I can give her advice. She is very assured, confident, and pretty aware of what’s going on, so I think that’s a very commendable thing.”
Aaradhya’s recent performance at the annual day of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, where she portrayed an antagonistic role with convincing aplomb, became a sensation on social media. The videos showed her delivering her English dialogues with remarkable proficiency and even performing a dance while singing during the skit, showcasing a keen awareness of stage presence and performance.
Interestingly, Navya Naveli Nanda, despite her ties to one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated families, has opted for the path of entrepreneurship rather than the silver screen. With a keen interest in social causes, she launched Project Naveli in 2021, aiming to combat gender inequality in India. Her brother Agastya took a different route, stepping into the world of acting with his debut in the Netflix production ‘The Archies’.
Navya’s insights into Aaradhya Bachchan’s persona have offered a glimpse into the mindset of a growing prodigy from the Bachchan household. In an era where the young are often under intense scrutiny due to their familial ties, it’s refreshing to see individuality and intellect being celebrated over lineage. Beyond the fanfare and the expectations, Aaradhya, according to Navya, stands as a beacon of her generation, embodying wisdom, awareness, and the confidence worthy of the Bachchan legacy.
