Celebrating Varun Dhawan’s 2024 Birthday: Glimpses Into Future Films and Series

As the calendar turned to April 24, 2024, Bollywood star Varun Dhawan added another candle to his birthday cake. Varun, the beloved progeny of directing maestro David Dhawan, burst into the Bollywood scene in 2012 with the youthful hit ‘Student Of The Year,’ a film by Karan Johar. Ever since, he has explored a vast array of cinematic worlds, constantly pushing the boundaries of his acting prowess. His recent venture, ‘Bawaal’, showcased him alongside Janhvi Kapoor in a tale echoing the saga of World War 2—a film orchestrated by Nitesh Tiwari that premiered digitally on Prime Video.

Marking his special day, a dazzling list of Varun’s upcoming endeavors have been unveiled, each promising to captivate audiences with his dynamic performances.

One of the most anticipated announcements is “Citadel: Honey Bunny”, an upcoming series helmed by the acclaimed creators of ‘The Family Man’, Raj and DK. Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are set to lead the cast in this Indian rendition of the international series originally conceptualized by the Russo brothers. In the global narrative, silver screen royalty Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden have already made a splash. Joining Varun and Samantha on this ambitious project will be notable names like Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher, all of whom secure the Indian Citadel world firmly in viewers’ imaginations.

The roar of “Bhediya 2” can almost be heard in the distance. The social drama that saw Varun Dhawan master the role of a werewolf, alongside Kriti Sanon, is due for a sequel. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this installment remains within the narrative universe shared by Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree’. It has been a year since Varun’s announcement of reprising his lycanthropic role, and audiences can anticipate this hair-raising sequel to grace theaters in 2025.

Varun’s versatility does not end there. “Baby John” positions him in a dramatically different role, in a film steered by director A. Kaleeswaran. Presented by Atlee, in collaboration with Jio Studios and Cine1 Studios, this movie also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav. Slated for a theatrical release on May 31, 2024, “Baby John” is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande. With whispers of a possible shift to a July premier, the film’s release date holds a shadow of suspense.

The chemistry between Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, which previously sizzled in ‘Bawaal’, is set to reignite the screen in the tentatively titled ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’. This film, under the direction of Shashank Khaitan—who also crafted the much-loved Dulhania franchise and ‘Dhadak’—promises to be another heartwarming narrative. Although not officially linked to the Dulhania narrative, the casting update created waves among fans who were initially disheartened to hear of Alia Bhatt’s absence.

Reappearing from the shadows of ‘Bhediya’, Varun is rumored to be making a cameo appearance in the much-awaited “Stree 2”, sharing screen space with the original film’s stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor.

As Varun Dhawan marks his birthday, his journey forward appears filled with intriguing and high-profile projects. Whether it’s through diverse film roles or forays into streaming with captivating series, he continues to enthrall fans across the globe. Audiences eagerly await to experience the various shades of this dynamic artist’s talents, as he etches his mark further into the annals of Indian cinema.
