Amazon Prime Video Unveils Exclusive Streaming Debuts Including ‘Dil Dosti Dilemma’ ‘The Family Star’ and ‘Them’ Season 2

As Amazon Prime Video updates its catalog with exciting new titles this week, viewers have much to anticipate, including the youth-centric drama ‘Dil Dosti Dilemma,’ the heartwarming Telugu feature ‘The Family Star,’ and the riveting second season of the horror-anthology series ‘Them’.

‘Dil Dosti Dilemma’ introduces audiences to Asmara, portrayed by the effervescent Anushka Sen. Asmara is a young girl rooted in affluence, calling the bustling urban landscape of Bengaluru home. The series, set to a backdrop of laughter and coming-of-age adventures, follows her as her eagerly-awaited summer plans are upended, rerouting her to Tibbri Road – the middle-class neighborhood of her maternal grandparents. Initially seeing her circumstances as burdensome, Asmara’s perspective shifts as she immerses herself in an expedition filled with commotions, camaraderie, a blossoming relationship, and precious life lessons. She discovers that life’s riches lie far beyond the scope of mere materialism and lavish vacations. Acclaimed director Debbie Rao brings this adaptation of Andaleeb Wajid’s novel ‘Asmara’s Summer’ to the small screen, with the spirited creative production led by Seema Mohapatra and Jahanara Bhargava. Alongside Sen, the vibrant cast includes Kush Jotwani, Tanvi Azmi, and Shishir Sharma, with significant roles played by Shruti Seth, Vishakha Pandey, Revathi Pillai, Elisha Mayor, and Suhasini Mulay.

The warmth of familial bonds and unforeseen romance fill the storyline of ‘The Family Star’, where Vijay Deverakonda portrays Govardhan – a man deeply entrenched in the virtues of family, facing the day-to-day realities of supporting a large household. The monotonous threads of his life are woven into exciting patterns with the entrance of Indu, enacted by Mrunal Thakur, whose presence as the new tenant sparks a tender love story amidst the complexities of interpersonal relationships and societal challenges. Helmed by writer-director Parasuram, this Telugu romantic family drama is produced under the esteemed banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations by Dil Raju and Shirish.

Los Angeles sets the stage once more for ‘Them’ Season 2, where the story shifts focus to LAPD Homicide Detective Dawn Reeve, played by the compelling Deborah Ayorinde. Dawn is embroiled in a puzzling case that forces her to confront Southern California’s darkest corners – the brutal murder of a foster home mother that has left even veteran detectives unsettled. Los Angeles teeters on the brink of chaos as Dawn races against time to apprehend the murderer. The series, co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, features a dynamic ensemble with Pam Grier, Luke James, Joshua J. Williams, Jeremy Bobb, Wayne Knight, Carlito Olivero, Charles Brice, and Iman Shumpert. ‘Them’ continues to grip its audience with a narrative that is equal parts haunting and captivating.

The streaming service also makes room for other international flavors. ‘Sueltos en Los Cabos S1’ transports viewers to the party epicenter of Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, where eight individuals navigate the vibrant social scene, from trending clubs to spirited pubs, showcasing the locale’s celebratory spirit.

‘Luxe Listings Toronto S1’ switches gears to the opulent north, as it dissects the highly competitive property market of Toronto through the eyes of elite real estate moguls Peter Torkan, Paige Torkan, and Brett Starke. Directed by David F. Mewa, the series divulges the personal and professional complexities of sealing deals within the city’s million-dollar real estate arena.

Meanwhile, ‘Sayen: La Cazadora’ takes the audience on an investigative journey with protagonist Sayen in the Atacama Desert, alongside a young local girl, Quimal, as they confront corporate exploitation of water resources. Directed by Alexander Witt, the series stands out with its gripping narrative and poignant environmental undercurrents.

Lastly, ‘Cirque Du Soleil: Without a Net,’ an award-winning documentary directed by Dawn Porter, illustrates the efforts of the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil as they strive to reignite the magic of their flagship show, O, post the global pause brought about by unforeseen circumstances. The documentary promises viewers a backstage pass to the circus’s emotive and inspirational voyage back to the spotlight.
