Farah Khan’s Hilarious Misadventures with Ed Sheeran

The latest episode of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ witnessed the dynamic duo of the film industry, Farah Khan and Anil Kapoor, bringing the house down with their candid confessions and jocular anecdotes. The show, hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma, is known for its light-hearted and entertaining format, where celebrities open up like never before. This episode was no different, as Farah Khan recalled a particularly amusing incident involving the globally acclaimed singer, Ed Sheeran.

Farah Khan, renowned filmmaker and choreographer, alongside veteran actor Anil Kapoor, shared the couch and took the audience on a laughter-filled journey. Known for their witty nature and unparalleled sense of humor, the duo provided heaps of entertainment with their stories and unabashed opinions.

During the show, Kapil Sharma brought up an incident where Farah Khan famously failed to recognize Ed Sheeran at her own party. Delving into the backstory, Farah explained, “After a few drinks, I was pretty tipsy. So, I marched up to the DJ and angrily asked, ‘Kya maiyyat ke gaane baja raha hai?’ (Why are you playing these funeral songs?). The DJ retorted, ‘I’m playing Ed Sheeran songs.’ Given the situation, I just said, ‘Ok then, carry on.’”

This humorous admission had the audience in splits, but it also highlighted Farah’s unfiltered personality. She took it in stride, showcasing her ability to laugh at herself and the hilarity of the situation.

The conversation continued with Kapil probing into Farah and Anil’s methods of handling adversities and negative comments from colleagues. Anil Kapoor, ever the gentleman, stated, “No, I don’t take revenge.” He added, “I take revenge by doing good work,” emphasizing his positive outlook.

Farah, however, had a more forthright approach. She confessed, “I don’t take revenge actively, but I do harbor negative feelings. I might think, ‘Teri what lag jaye!’ (May you face doom!)” She jokingly admitted having a “black tongue,” capable of cursing the next few projects of those who speak ill of her.

She elaborated, “‘Beta, teri agli do-teen picture toh gayi’ (I wish the next 2-3 films of yours flop)! So, whoever has had flops films in recent times, understand it happened because I cursed them,” she quipped with a sly smile.

Anil Kapoor, known for his string of hit movies, playfully responded, “Meri toh sab hit hai,” (All my films are hits), to which Farah affectionately replied, “Papaji, I will never wish that for you. I love you.” This exchange highlighted the camaraderie and mutual respect between the two industry stalwarts.

The episode took a more personal turn as Farah shared insights about her life at home. She revealed that despite her authoritative presence on film sets, the dynamics at home are quite the opposite. Her husband, Shirish Kunder, a filmmaker and editor, takes on the dominant role in their household.

Kapil’s curiosity led him to ask about her dynamic with Shirish, to which Farah responded, “It’s the opposite for me. Shirish is the boss in the house. He doesn’t speak much when he’s out, but at home, he is exceedingly talkative. His lectures are so frequent that sometimes all of us hide behind the couch to escape them. So, at home, I am very calm and polite.”

This peek into Farah’s domestic life added another layer to her multifaceted personality, contrasting her professional sternness with her home environment. It painted a vivid picture of her juggling her roles as a wife, mother, and successful filmmaker.
