The incident unfolded following a road rage episode involving Tandon’s driver, thrusting the actress into an unexpected and dangerous confrontation. As the incident rapidly gained attention, actress Kangana Ranaut took to social media to vehemently denounce the aggression and stand in solidarity with Tandon.
A day after the unsettling incident, Kangana Ranaut utilized her Instagram stories to voice her concerns. The event, which was captured on CCTV and subsequently went viral, appeared highly distressing. Kangana expressed her alarm in no uncertain terms, stating, “What happened to Raveena Tandon ji is absolutely alarming; had there been 5-6 more people in the opposite group, she would have been lynched. We condemn such road rage outbursts; those people must be reprimanded. They must not get away with such violent and poisonous behavior.”
This strong statement from Kangana came as the story continued to unfold. According to the Mumbai Police, the incident did not occur as initially claimed. On Sunday, the police clarified that a false complaint had been filed against Raveena Tandon at the Khar Police Station. The allegations included accusations of drunk and rash driving, none of which held up under scrutiny.
Raveena Tandon herself took to social media to dispel the false allegations. She shared a screenshot from ‘Viral Bhayani’ on the platform ‘X’, emphasizing the inaccuracies in the complaints against her. The post revealed that DCP Rajtilak Roshan of Zone 9 had confirmed the complaint was indeed false after a thorough check of CCTV footage.
Detailing the incident, DCP Roshan explained, “The complainant gave a false complaint in the alleged video. We checked the entire CCTV footage of the society and found that the actress’s driver was reversing the car from the road into the society when this family was crossing the same lane. The family stopped the car and told the driver that he should check if people were behind the car before reversing, and an argument started between them.”
As the argument escalated, Raveena Tandon came to the spot.
. Concerned for her driver’s safety amidst the growing mob, she attempted to de-escalate the situation. However, the crowd began to direct their aggression towards her. Recognizing the potential for further escalation, both Raveena and the family involved decided to proceed to the Khar Police Station to file complaints. Remarkably, both parties eventually chose to withdraw their complaints.
“This argument escalated into abusive language, and actress Raveena Tandon arrived at the spot to check what had happened with her driver. The actress tried to protect the driver from the mob; however, the mob started abusing her. Both Raveena Tandon and the family went to the Khar Police Station and gave written complaints. Later, they both also submitted letters stating they did not want to register any complaints,” elaborated DCP Rajtilak Roshan.
Highlighting that there were no injuries reported, and the CCTV footage corroborated that Raveena Tandon’s car did not collide with any individual, DCP Roshan made it clear that the actress was not intoxicated during the incident.
Raveena also shared another piece of evidence from the online portal, where Mumbai Police were quoted confirming that neither party wanted to pursue complaints. As per the police, “Tandon’s driver was trying to reverse the car to park it, and three people from a family felt that they would get hit. After the argument, both parties left, and later, police reached the spot and questioned Tandon’s staff. The other party was also called to the Police Station. Both parties denied making any complaints.”
