Ameesha Patel’s Script Condition for Gadar 3 Participation Revealed

Ameesha Patel, renowned for her iconic role as Sakina in the 2001 blockbuster “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” has once again captured the hearts of her fans by reprising her role in the long-awaited sequel, “Gadar 2”. With buzz now building around a potential third installment, Gadar 3, Ameesha Patel has expressed her desire to be part of the upcoming film, but with one specific condition.

During an #AskMeAnything session on X (formerly known as Twitter) on June 22, Patel was asked by a fan if she would consider increasing her screen time in Gadar 3. Patel’s response was filled with hope and practicality, as she emphasized the importance of being genuinely satisfied with the script before committing to any project.

“Firstly, Gadar 2 was a great film and the screenplay was executed as per the script,” she stated, highlighting the importance of a well-crafted screenplay. “It’s very important to keep that as a top priority if you want your film to be loved. As an actor, one can’t be selfish and must keep the film before our needs.”

She further elaborated on her connection with the character Sakina, saying, “I love Sakina and I value the love of you all towards Sakina. But yes, if offered Gadar 3, I will surely only do it if I’m super happy with the script as I was in Gadar 1.”

Ameesha Patel’s recent candid interactions and reflections provide a deeper insight into her career and the challenges she has faced. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she reminisced about her entry into Bollywood and how it was largely dominated by industry insiders and star kids. She entered the industry alongside well-known names such as Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Tusshar Kapoor, Esha Deol, and Fardeen Khan, all of whom hailed from established film families.

“When I entered the film industry, I only had film actors’ kids or producers’ kids entering with me,” she noted. “It was Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Tusshar Kapoor, Esha Deol, Fardeen Khan. You name it, you turn your head, and it was a film family third-generation person coming in.”

Addressing the perception of being an outsider, Patel provided a glimpse into the kind of professional and personal scrutiny she endured. “I was the outsider and I was anyway this South Bombay girl looked upon as a snob because I was the educated outsider.

However, not everyone agrees with Patel’s perspective. Esha Deol, another contemporary from that era, had a different take on the environment within the industry. In an interview with India Today, Deol offered a contrasting view, stating, “Did she? My thoughts are very different. I think we were all very busy with our own lot of what we were given. I’ve had some wonderful friendships with the girls back then, and I think no one snatched anyone’s role to my knowledge.”

Deol emphasized that there was a strong sense of camaraderie among her peers. “Everyone was very busy and happy working in their own zone. Everyone was very friendly, all the girls, even the men, very friendly, very warm. It was really nice. I think we were all doing so much work and had so much to do. It is not that any one of us was sitting without work.”

This nuanced dialogue between actresses highlights the diversity of experiences within the same industry and time period, offering fans and observers a more three-dimensional appreciation of their journeys.

As anticipation builds for Gadar 3, Ameesha Patel’s condition on the script adds a layer of intrigue and sets high expectations for what the new installment might bring. Her dedication to the character of Sakina and emphasis on quality storytelling underscores her commitment not only to her craft but also to the loyal fan base that has supported her over the years. Will the creators of Gadar 3 meet her script expectations? Fans eagerly await the next development in this beloved film saga.
