Kangana Ranaut Opens Up About Her Bond with Salman Khan and His Support for ‘Emergency’

In a recent interview, acclaimed Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut provided insights into her relationship with superstar Salman Khan, amidst promoting her upcoming film ‘Emergency’. Kangana, known for her illustrious yet often controversial career, was all praises for Salman, revealing the extent of his kindness and support over the years.

Currently occupied with the final stages of her film ‘Emergency’, Kangana shared that Salman Khan has been extraordinarily kind towards her. Despite frequently claiming that she has been blacklisted by the Bollywood fraternity, she had nothing but words of admiration for Salman. The actress disclosed that he had previously offered her significant roles in blockbuster films ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Sultan’, roles that eventually went to Kareena Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, respectively.

Speaking with interviewer Siddharth Kannan, Kangana detailed her experiences with Salman. “Salman offered me a role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, I was like ‘Yeh kya role diya hai?’ (what is this role?). He then approached me for Sultan. I didn’t take that up. He was like ‘What more do I offer to you now?’” Despite turning down these opportunities, she emphasized Salman’s consistent kindness towards her. “Salman is so kind. He keeps talking to me. He is even excited to watch Emergency. We have a common friend, he sent him and was like ‘you go see what film she has made’. He called me and said, ‘It’s a nice film’. I was like, ‘So you have the news, but you haven’t watched it yourself.’ This is the kind of bonding we share,” she added, highlighting the mutual respect and camaraderie between them.

Moreover, Kangana expressed her ambition of working with the three iconic Khans of Bollywood—Aamir, Shah Rukh, and Salman. During the trailer launch of ‘Emergency’, she articulated her desire not just to produce and direct a film featuring them but also to showcase their immense talents in a meaningful and socially significant project.

. “I would love to produce and direct a film with all three Khans. And I would also love to show the talented side of theirs, wherein they can act and also look good. And they can also do something which is very significant to society. I would like to make a film like that because I think they are all very talented,” she stated with enthusiasm.

In another conversation with Raj Shamani, Kangana delved into why she has not collaborated with the Khans thus far. She bluntly addressed the stereotypical roles often offered to female leads in their films. “I said no to their films because their films are prototypes where the heroine has two scenes and one song,” she explained, shedding light on her decision to prioritize substantial and empowering roles.

Turning the focus back to ‘Emergency’, the film features a star-studded ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the movie’s music is the collaborative effort of Sanchit Balhara, Ankit Balhara, and G.V. Prakash Kumar, while the screenplay and dialogues are crafted by Ritesh Shah.

‘Emergency’, a highly anticipated film, is slated for a theatrical release on September 6, 2024. The narrative is expected to be gripping, given the historical and political significance of the subject matter it covers.

Kangana’s words about Salman Khan and her broader views on the industry shed light on the often unseen dynamics of Bollywood relationships and the mutual respect among its biggest stars. As she gears up for her latest project, audiences remain eager to see how ‘Emergency’ will fare at the box office and whether it will reinforce Kangana’s reputation as a powerhouse performer and filmmaker. Her ambition to work with Bollywood’s heavyweights and her resolve to choose roles with substance reflect a strong, independent career path—traits that her fans deeply admire.
