Bollywood Star Kangana Ranaut Takes Leading Role in ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’

Mumbai: The dynamic Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is poised to star in an inspirational new film, “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata,” even as she waits for her other film, “Emergency,” to get the green light from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The announcement came on Tuesday when trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to social media platform X to break the news. According to Adarsh, Ranaut will “essay the central role” in “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata,” which will illuminate the extraordinary achievements of ordinary people.

“Kangana Ranaut to Star in ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’… #KanganaRanaut will essay the central role in #BharatBhhagyaViddhaata… The film will showcase the remarkable stories of ordinary people and their extraordinary achievements,” wrote Adarsh.

The film is set to be directed and written by Manoj Tapadia. It is produced by Babita Ashiwal of Eunoia Films and Adi Sharmaa of Floating Rocks Entertainment. The upcoming feature focuses on the nation’s unsung heroes – the working-class heroes and blue-collar employees who keep the country running.

Talking about the collaboration with Kangana, Babita Ashiwal shared her enthusiasm, “Working on this project has been incredibly rewarding. Our goal is to create content that captivates our audience. With Kangana on board, we are confident the movie will strike the right chord.”

The filmmakers aim to honor the invaluable contributions of everyday individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes. This representation seeks to resonate deeply with audiences across the country and beyond.

In the midst of this new announcement, Kangana is currently dealing with delays related to her highly anticipated political drama “Emergency.” The film examines the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who imposed a 21-month period known as the Emergency from 1975 to 1977. The movie also includes notable actors like Anupam Kher and the late Satish Kaushik.

. Initially set for release on September 6, “Emergency” is still awaiting certification from the CBFC.

Kangana took to social media last week to shed light on the situation, revealing that despite earlier reports, “Emergency” has not yet received the final clearance.

“There have been rumours circulating that my film Emergency has been certified by the Censor Board. This is not true. While our film did receive clearance from the CBFC, the certification was on hold due to numerous death threats against members of the censor board,” Kangana explained.

Kangana further elaborated on the pressure faced by filmmakers in such contentious projects. “There is pressure being put on us to remove certain scenes, such as the assassination of Indira Gandhi, the Punjab riots, and more. Now, I don’t know what else to show. What are we supposed to do–blackout the film during these scenes? This is unbelievable to me, and I am deeply sorry for the current state of thinking in this country,” she lamented.

“Economic hardships apart, addressing social sensitivities and perceived threats has now become part of the filmmaking process,” she added. Kangana’s frustrations echo a larger issue of creative restrictions and political sensitivities in Bollywood, particularly concerning true-to-life stories of highly controversial periods in Indian history.

While this drama unfolds, Kangana’s role in “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata” promises a departure from political tensions, focusing on uplifting stories of ordinary heroes. This lineup of dual contrasting roles – one in a politically charged drama and another in a celebration of everyday perseverance – highlights her versatile range as an actress and her willingness to tackle diverse narratives.

Producer Adi Sharmaa also expressed confidence in the film’s success. “We believe that stories about the daily struggles and triumphs of common people will resonate with audiences. Kangana’s involvement ensures that these stories will be told with the depth and respect they deserve,” he remarked.

The anticipation surrounding both films highlights Kangana’s critical role in current Indian cinema. While “Emergency” waits its turn under the CBFC’s scrutiny, “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata” looks ready to celebrate the untold stories of India’s unsung heroes.

Ultimately, the Bollywood industry is keenly observing the dual narratives – one of anticipation and another of celebration – that Kangana Ranaut is currently threading in her career. Both films, albeit in different ways, underscore her dedication to bringing significant, heartfelt stories to the silver screen, making her a subject of both industry and public interest.
