Sanjay Dutt performs ‘pind daan’ for parents in Gaya expresses excitement for Ram mandir in Ayodhya

Sanjay Dutt Carries Out Time-Honored ‘Pind Daan’

In a moving tribute to his late parents, famed Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt undertook the sacred ‘pind daan’ rituals on Thursday at the Vishnupad temple in Gaya. Donning traditional attire, the actor sought spiritual solace by the banks of the Phalgu river, following a Hindu practice designed to bring peace to the souls of the departed.

The ‘pind daan’ is an essential rite in Hinduism, with family members gathering to offer homage to ancestors at designated holy landmarks in Gaya, including the Vishnupad Temple, the Phalgu River, and the Akshay Vat tree. Although the ceremony is intricate, requiring up to two hours to perform, it can be completed within a single day, hence, allowing the actor to fulfill this spiritual obligation amidst his busy schedule.

Sanjay’s father, Sunil Dutt, who was not only a prominent figure in the film industry but also an esteemed politician, passed away on May 25, 2005. His mother, the celebrated actress Nargis Dutt, left the world much earlier, on May 3, 1981. The pind daan serves as a heartfelt homage to their memory and a testament to Dutt’s enduring bond with his parents.

The Meeting Between a Star and His Admirers

The news of Sanjay Dutt’s visit spread swiftly among his dedicated fanbase, leading to a large congregation hoping for a glimpse of the iconic actor outside the Vishnupad temple. After completing the solemn ceremony, Dutt took time to meet his well-wishers, a gesture that beautifully showcased the actor’s sincere appreciation for the love and support he receives.

In the midst of the emotional day, Sanjay Dutt also shared words of joyful anticipation concerning the upcoming inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, expressing his desire to visit and pray at the newly constructed temple. He joined the collective sentiment of excitement within the Hindu community, looking forward to the grand opening scheduled to be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22.

Echoing chants of “Jai Bhole” and “Jai Shri Ram,” Sanjay Dutt affirmed the positive sentiments surrounding the temple’s establishment, encapsulating the mood with the exclamation, “Bahut achchi baat hai, bahut achchi baat hai (it’s great).” This spiritual landmark, embodying tradition and faith, clearly holds a special place in the actor’s heart, as he eagerly awaits its formal inauguration.
