It continued, “Noor played for Sharjah Warriors in Season 1 of the ILT20 who sent him a retention notice on the same terms and conditions in accordance with the Player Agreement terms ahead of Season 2.” The refusal to commit to an extension prompted the Sharjah Warriors to seek a resolution through the ILT20’s governing structures.

It included key figures such as the league’s Chief Executive Officer David White, Head of Security and Anti-Corruption Col. Azam, and Member Emirates Cricket Board Zayed Abbas. Following a thorough investigation and hearings with both parties, the decision was reached to bar Noor Ahmad from participating in the league for a full calendar year. A sterner 20-month ban was initially on the cards, but leniency was applied once the panel recognized that Ahmad, a minor at the time of his initial agreement signing, may not have been fully informed by his agent of the contract’s intricate details.
