Australia have announced their final squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in the Caribbean and the USA. “Matthew Short has shown his consistency in the BBL over a long period, and he’s reflected glimpses of that talent at the international level too. Though he’s had to adapt to different roles occasionally,” McDonald elaborated. “We believe he’s best suited to feature at the top of the order, similar to Jake. This is likely why they haven’t been included in the initial 15.
. But if any shifts occur, both Jake and Matt offer the flexibility to be positioned anywhere in the batting order,” he added.
Australia’s T20 World Cup journey is set to commence on June 5 in Barbados, where they will face Oman in their opening match. At this juncture, the five players currently competing in the IPL playoffs will rejoin the squad, consolidating the team’s strength.
