The mishap happened during a practice run at the Dubai Autodrome for the upcoming 24H Dubai 2025 race, which is set to take place on January 11 and 12. The race will be Ajith’s team’s debut in major competitive events.
Ajith, a well-known racing aficionado, announced his return to racing in September with the launch of his own racing team, called Ajith Kumar Racing. The team had announced the star’s desire to participate in the European GT4 championship in 2025. Popular Belgian racer Fabian Duffieux was announced as the team’s official racing driver.
A passionate racer, Ajith has previously competed in the Asian Formula BMW Championship and the British Formula 3 Championship, including podium finishes at the Donington Park and Knockill circuits. He has also raced in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Having started off with motorcycle racing, Ajith also took part in the National Motorcycle Racing Championship.
Notably, Ajith also founded the Chennai-based startup Venus Motorcycles, which focuses on motorcycle touring and training bike enthusiasts. The firm intends to commence its first, on-road training session for women this month, under the guidance of seasoned motorcyclists and trainers.
On the film front, his upcoming film, Vidaamuyarchi, was set to release on Pongal but has been postponed by the makers. Another upcoming movie of the actor, Good Bad Ugly, is set to release on April 10.
