Actor Parvin Dabas Recalls Harrowing Road Accident in Mumbai

In a shocking turn of events, actor Parvin Dabas, widely known for his roles in the National Award-winning film ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ and the popular Prime Video series ‘Made in Heaven’, recently met with a severe road accident in the bustling locality of Bandra, Mumbai. Parvin, who is also the husband of ‘Mohabbatein’ fame actress Preeti Jhangiani, suffered injuries and was immediately rushed to Holy Family Hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The unfortunate accident occurred in the early hours of September 21st while Parvin was driving back home from his office located in Khar. He was navigating the streets of Bandra when an oncoming vehicle’s high beam lights temporarily blinded him, causing him to lose sight of a road divider and crash into it. The resulting impact left him unconscious until two passer-by boys discovered him and promptly called an ambulance.

Recounting the fateful incident, Parvin shared, “I was found lying unconscious by two boys. They made me sit on the sidewalk of the road. I remember hearing them talk about calling an ambulance, and soon after, I was taken to a nearby hospital.” He further explained the critical factor that led to the accident, “I was driving, and at one point, because of the high beam lights from the vehicle on the other side of the road, I couldn’t see the divider, and I crashed into it. This experience has underscored the urgent need to educate people about the dangers of driving with high beam lights on.”

The actor emphasized that the use of high beams on busy roads can be extremely hazardous. “There have been many occasions when I’ve been driving with my wife, Preeti Jhangiani, and had to tell her about how high beams can lead to accidents. Despite not speeding and being cautious that day, I still found myself in this situation because of the reckless use of high beam lights by another driver,” he added.

Parvin’s accident has not only been a traumatic experience for him but also for his family. Initially, he and Preeti decided to withhold information about the accident from their sons, hoping to shield them from distress. However, the news rapidly spread, and their elder son received a disturbing message from a friend expressing condolences and fearing the worst. Preeti had to step in to reassure their children about Parvin’s condition and provide them with emotional support during this challenging time.

. Reflecting on this ordeal, Parvin said, “Preeti has been a solid support. She managed to deal with the situation well. Initially, we didn’t tell our sons about the accident, but they got to know from their friends. My older son got a message from his friend saying, ‘Sorry to hear about your dad.’ He thought I had passed away. Preeti then explained everything to them and calmed them down. The incident has certainly made me appreciate my life and family more.”

Following his discharge from the hospital on September 25th, Parvin has been advised to rest for 10 days. He is currently on medication and experiences frequent vertigo, requiring him to walk with the assistance of a cane. “I am taking pills for vertigo because I feel dizzy every time I get up. I am not walking around much, and whenever I do, I need the help of a cane. I have been scheduled for a follow-up after a few days,” Parvin shared regarding his recovery process.

Meanwhile, the accident has led to the postponement of the upcoming season of the Professional Panja League, of which Parvin is a co-founder. Originally scheduled to take place next month, the international arm-wrestling event in Mumbai will now be rescheduled to accommodate Parvin’s recovery period.

Although the accident has left him shaken, Parvin Dabas remains positive and is grateful for the support he has received from his wife and children. This incident has also prompted him to advocate for more awareness about road safety and the responsible use of high-beam headlights, hoping that his experience will serve as a cautionary tale for drivers everywhere.
