Akshay Kumar Reflects on a Life-Changing Incident in Bangkok During ‘Dhawan Karenge’

Recently, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar made an appearance on ace cricketer Shikhar Dhawan’s chat show ‘Dhawan Karenge,’ where he shared an anecdote from his early years in Bangkok that left an indelible impression on him about the “significance of humility.”

Kumar began by reminiscing about his formative years, “My father noticed my lack of interest in academic studies early on and decided to send me to Bangkok. I found the country instantly likable. From the moment you deplane, everyone greets you with a joined-hands bow, which is quite a stunning and warm gesture. It feels wonderful and even more so when you realize this tradition hails from our own culture, yet is followed so earnestly there.”

While discussing an event that profoundly impacted him during his time in Bangkok, Kumar noted, “I remember an incident that really taught me the importance of humility and bowing down. Humbling yourself helps build the resilience needed to overcome any challenge. One day, while making a turn, I accidentally collided with the bike of an RTO officer, causing both of us to topple over. Panicking, I instantly apologized, bowing to him. To my surprise, the officer helped me pick up my bike and helmet and kindly advised me to ride cautiously in the future.”

Moving on from personal anecdotes, Kumar provided updates on his professional endeavors. He was recently seen in the movie ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,’ directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. This star-studded film features notable performances from Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F. Released on April 10, 2024, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ faced stiff competition at the box office from Ajay Devgn’s film ‘Maidaan.’

Currently, Akshay is gearing up for his next big project, ‘Jolly LLB 3.’ Recently, Kumar and his co-star Arshad Warsi wrapped up a shoot schedule in Rajasthan for the film. To celebrate, Akshay took to Instagram to share an exclusive behind-the-scenes video from the set.

. In the footage, both actors are seen riding bikes, covered in blood, indicating that it might be from an intense combat scene. Akshay captioned the video, “And that’s a schedule wrap! As you can see both the Jollys had a jolly good time in Rajasthan. #JollyLLB3”

For context, the ‘Jolly LLB’ franchise has been a significant part of Akshay’s career. The previous installment, ‘Jolly LLB 2,’ released in 2017, was a spiritual successor to ‘Jolly LLB,’ which debuted in 2013. The original film featured Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles, while the sequel saw Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi take the spotlight. Noteworthy mentions also include Amrita Rao, who was part of the first film.

Apart from ‘Jolly LLB 3,’ Akshay has a busy schedule ahead with multiple releases lined up. He will be starring in ‘Welcome To The Jungle,’ which is set to hit theaters during the Christmas 2024 weekend. Another anticipated project is ‘Sarfira,’ directed by Sudha Kongara, and he also has ‘Khel Khel Mein’ in his pipeline.

Shifting the focus back to his appearance on ‘Dhawan Karenge,’ the chat show itself has garnered much attention and is currently streaming on JioCinema. The show promises to offer an intriguing blend of candid revelations and engaging conversations with well-known personalities from various fields.
