Arjun Kapoor’s Heartfelt Message on Mother’s Day: Cherish Your Mothers

As the world celebrated Mother’s Day, it brought joy for many, but also poignant reflection for others such as Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor, who took to social media to share a heartrending video in memory of his late mother, Mona Shourie Kapoor. Through his message, Arjun called for people to cherish the unwavering love of their mothers and urged them not to overlook the profound role parents play in their lives.

In his intimate video message, Arjun addressed his followers from a personal standpoint. “Hi, guys. It’s Mother’s Day,” he began, disclosing that a surge of emotions drove him to record the video after a solitary moment at home. “I don’t know why I am posting this video. Just woke up and while I was showering, I felt the need to just say something to everybody out there who got their moms by their side, who’s got moms in their lives even though they’re not around them—just make sure you send them love, give them love, remind them how much they mean to you, how much they define you. Hum inn cheezo ko for granted lete hai (we take these things for granted).”

His contemplative tone underscored a common oversight in the hustle of daily life—the undeniable bond shared between a mother and her child, often not fully appreciated. Arjun’s own sister was away on holiday, amplifying his feelings of solitude on this day dedicated to maternal figures. Seized by this realization, he sought to extend his heartfelt thoughts to his audience. “My sister is not here, she is travelling, she’s away on holiday and I guess I was sitting alone at home, so I felt the need to put this message out to the world. Don’t take them for granted,” he implored.

Emphasizing the encompassing nature of a mother’s love, he said, “Our parents, Mothers, humara bahut khayal rakhte hai (our parents take great care of us). We should give them our love, respect and care for them as much as we can.”

Arjun went beyond acknowledging just biological mothers, extending his Mother’s Day greetings to all who step into nurturing roles that embody a mother’s care. “So, here’s wishing every mother Happy Mother’s Day, every parent who is having to be there, perhaps sometimes to be a mother, every brother or sister who is having to be a mother – happy Mother’s Day,” he expressed, recognizing the complexities and diversities of caregiving roles in modern families.

For Arjun, Mother’s Day is accompanied by a mixture of gratitude and sorrow. He experienced the heartbreaking loss of his mother on March 25, twelve years ago, just as he was preparing for his Bollywood debut. In 2012, a tragic medical condition claimed his mother’s life prematurely, leaving a void that resonates especially on days meant to celebrate maternal figures.

Arjun channeled his personal experience into a broader message of empathy and compassion. “It’s tough. Days like this are tough. They deserve to be there, but they can be tough sometimes. For anybody who is going through what I’m going through, lots of love and for anybody else who’s taking things for granted, don’t. Maa ko pyaar do. Maa ne apke liye bahut kasht uthaye (Give love to your mother. She has endured a lot for you),” he shared, connecting with anyone facing similar struggles and feelings of grief.

In the midst of this emotional share, Arjun also offered fans a glimpse into his professional life. He is currently engrossed in the production of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, adding a new dimension to the franchise as the antagonist. Under Rohit Shetty’s direction, the star-studded cast includes Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh. This next installment follows the success of ‘Singham’ (2011) and ‘Singham Returns’ (2014), both of which were substantial hits. Fans eagerly await the theatrical release of ‘Singham Again’ set for August 2024, aligned with the patriotic fervor of India’s Independence Day.

Arjun Kapoor’s message on Mother’s Day echoed a universal sentiment: to hold dear the unconditional love of our mothers and parent figures, and to not let the invaluable gift of their presence slip by unnoticed. Through his shared video, he has struck a chord with many, reminding us all to pause and show appreciation for the maternal bonds that shape our existence.
