‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ Premiere Rescheduled for Eid 2024

In a significant update for Bollywood aficionados, the release of one of the most anticipated movies of the year, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, has been pushed back, now slated to light up cinemas on April 11, 2024, coinciding with the festive celebrations of Eid. This shift in the premiere date was announced just before the movie was initially scheduled to hit the theaters.

The film, which stars prominent actors Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, has been generating considerable buzz in the industry. Currently engaged in promotional events in the UAE, the pair took to social media to explain the deferment to their fans. Akshay Kumar, fondly known as the ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood, conveyed the news in a jovial manner through an Instagram video where he wished everyone an advanced Eid Mubarak, inviting audiences to come and watch ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ during the festivities.

Alongside the announcement came a freshly minted poster that featured the updated release timeline. The production also witnessed an adjoining update from renowned actor Ajay Devgn, who is leading another movie, ‘Maidaan’, initially expected to premiere on the same day as ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. Devgn shared a glimpse of ‘Maidaan’, along with a note on his social handle marking the calendar for its release, highlighting special previews from April 10 and a full-scale release the following day, thus avoiding a direct clash with the other big-ticket film.

‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, promises to be a visual spectacle, with filming locations that span across diverse geographies from Mumbai and London to Abu Dhabi, Scotland, and Jordan, indicating the grandeur and the global appeal intended for the project. The pan-India film’s hype is attributed not only to its star-studded cast but also its commitment to delivering an experience on par with Hollywood’s high-octane visual treats.

Produced by a powerhouse team that includes Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Himanshu Kishan Mehra and the director himself, the movie also casts the South Indian star Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist, and features talented actresses Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F, who will be seen in significant roles, further ensuring a robust cinematic offering.

In contrast, ‘Maidaan’, under the direction of Amit Ravindernath Sharma, chronicles an inspiring saga with Ajay Devgn portraying Syed Abdul Rahim, a man who became a legend in Indian football, cementing a legacy of pride for the nation. Complementing Ajay’s commanding presence are accomplished actors like Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali thespian Rudranil Ghosh, each entrusted with pivotal roles.

Underscoring the cinematic experience of ‘Maidaan’ is the musical maestro, AR Rahman, who brings his Oscar-winning talent to the fore with a score that promises to be as stirring as the story itself. The film had faced its fair share of challenges; producer Boney Kapoor had to dismantle the elaborate set due to lockdown restrictions imposed to combat the novel coronavirus pandemic, initially stalling the production.

While both ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and ‘Maidaan’ brace for their upcoming releases, the casual alternation of launch dates reflects the dynamism and the competitive spirit of the Indian cinema landscape, particularly within the sprawling domain of Hindi film industry. It remains to be seen how audiences will respond to the rescheduling, but the anticipation for both movies is palpable, promising an Eid 2024 full of entertainment and box-office excitement.
