Bengaluru Set to Experience a Weekend of Diverse Musical Extravaganza

Bengaluru is set to witness a vibrant musical weekend, with diverse performances spanning genres from metal to reggae, jazz fusion, and electronic dance music. Music enthusiasts in the city are in for a treat with a series of gigs and events featuring top-tier musicians and bands showcasing their latest releases. Here’s a detailed look at what’s in store for Bengaluru’s music lovers.

**Trinergic Tour: Metal Mania**

Kickstarting the weekend on July 27 at 7 PM, Fandom at Gilly’s Redefined in Koramangala will host a powerhouse metal lineup as part of the Trinergic Tour across India. Tickets for this event are priced at ₹499 onwards, available via Insider.in, with an additional ₹500 cover charge at the door.

The event will see Kolkata metal band Chronic Xorn making a much-anticipated return ahead of their upcoming album release, marked by their recent release, ‘Howls of Mothers’. Chronic Xorn, known for their intense and visceral performances, is expected to deliver a set filled with fervor and new material.

Joining them will be Hyderabad’s hardcore-informed metal band R.A.I.D., celebrating their latest EP, Dominion. Released earlier this year, Dominion marks a new direction for the band, mixing their metallic hardcore roots with innovative twists. Their performance promises to be a high-energy showcase of their evolving sound.

The night will crescendo with a performance by Mumbai metallers Zygnema, who recently unveiled their new EP, Iconic. Guitarist Sidharth Kadadi expressed his excitement, saying, “As a band, we have always enjoyed playing club shows and Bangalore has been one of our favourite cities to perform. The last time we played a club gig in Bangalore was way back in 2017 at The Humming Tree. Pretty excited to come back to Bangalore for the second time in a year to promote our new EP Iconic.”

Notably, both Chronic Xorn and Zygnema graced Bengaluru earlier this year during the Bangalore Open Air metal festival in February, highlighting the city’s thriving metal scene.

**Soulful Rhythms: Soulgroove’s Tour Stop**

On July 26, starting from 8 PM at ZLB23, The Leela on HAL Old Airport Road, Shillong’s own Soulgroove will perform as part of their India On Fyah tour. Tickets can be secured through RSVP on Skillboxes.com or via WhatsApp for confirmation at +91 9632060433.

Their stage lineup includes keyboardist Kynsai Manners, DJ-producer and keyboardist Manavon Massar, and bassist Nash Lyngdoh.

A press release describes their journey, stating, “They have been actively gigging in and around the region (of North East India) for the past few years. Having honed their live musical skills, they are now all set to embark on their maiden tour across the country. When playing live, they are joined by a host of young talented session musicians who all hail from Shillong.”

**Jazz Fusion Extravaganza: Jatayu Returns**

The Chennai-based jazz fusion quartet Jatayu returns to Bengaluru on July 28, 7:30 PM, at Fandom at Gilly’s Redefined, Koramangala. Tickets are priced at ₹699 via Insider.in, with an additional ₹500 cover charge at the door.

Jatayu, known for their unique blend of jazz and Indian classical music, has been a familiar act in the city. Earlier this year, they performed at ZLB23 as part of the Magnetic Music Season 2 and inaugurated the year at the Oddball Festival. They even took their distinct sound to the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan in 2023.

According to the event description, “Jatayu is back in Bangalore with an electrifying performance! Known for their powerful live shows, Jatayu promises to deliver a special set featuring classic hits and brand-new tunes. Bangalore has always been the heart of Jatayu’s journey, boasting their best and biggest audiences. The band is excited to reunite with their fans in this vibrant city.”

**Electronic Dance Delight: Translate with DJ Raka Ashok**

Finally, on July 28 from 8 PM onwards, Indiranagar Social will be the place to be for electronic dance music lovers. Seasoned DJ Raka Ashok launches his new party series, Translate, featuring London-based producer and DJ Mossambi and Bengaluru’s own Ritzzz. Tickets can be reserved via RSVP at forms.gle/7NAmen8L3SG3iYiX6.

Ashok declares on social media, “The dance floor has always been a very special place — for self-expression, without any restrictions, and in the past decade, it has been very interesting to see how ravers like you (especially here in Bangalore) have responded and adapted to our ever-evolving sonic landscape, making this one of the best places to party. As a DJ, it is always exciting to observe how fresh sounds translate on the dancefloor. Hence the name.”

The night promises experimental sound design with bass-heavy dancefloor beats from Mossambi and house, deep disco, and electronica tracks from Ritzzz, who is noted for incorporating ‘breaks and acid to create a more hypnotic groove.’

Get ready for a weekend filled with diverse musical experiences that promise to bring Bengaluru pulsating with rhythms and melodies.
