Blaze Ravages Cara Delevingne’s Iconic L.A. Residence

Tragedy struck in the pre-dawn hours as a fierce blaze engulfed the Los Angeles home of renowned model and actor, Cara Delevingne. Amidst the inferno that ravaged the property located in Studio City, one firefighter was transported to the hospital in fair condition due to unspecified injuries. Additionally, an individual from the household was treated for minor smoke inhalation, as confirmed by Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange on Friday.

The fire-damaged property, captured in aerial photography, seems to be the same residence prominently showcased in a 2021 feature published in Architectural Digest. This incident casts a shadow over the whimsical home, known for its dual pools, twin trampolines, and captivating homage to colorful and lively design.

While Cara Delevingne was away, treading the boards in a West End production of Cabaret in London, her cherished home was being consumed by flames. The firefighters, upon their desperate arrival, were met with heavy fire in the rear of the two-story building, observing its rapid ascent into the attic, leading to the destruction of at least one room. Ensuring the premises were evacuated, the brigade then adopted a defensive strategy. Despite their valiant efforts, the building’s roof ultimately succumbed, collapsing under the fire’s intensity. It required more than two grueling hours to extinguish the blaze completely.

In the aftermath, Delevingne took to Instagram, sharing her thoughts and a visual stream of the chaos—fire trucks lined the streets, their emergency lights piercing the night. She expressed her profound gratitude via an Instagram story: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the firefighters and people that have showed up to help.” A palpable sense of loss permeated another story featuring an image of two unharmed cats with the caption reflecting Delevingne’s turmoil: “My heart is broken today I cannot believe it life can change in the blink of an eye cherish what you have.”

Delevingne’s affection for the home spilled into the pages of Architectural Digest in 2021. The eclectic assemblage within—a testament to her vibrant spirit—included a costume room for thematic parties, a restroom memorializing David Bowie, as well as poker and billiard rooms, blended seamlessly with a playful ball pit. With her characteristic candor, Delevingne had remarked, “If I’m having a bad day, I just hop in the ball pit. You can’t really cry in a ball pit.” At present, representatives for Delevingne have not provided any comments as the ongoing investigation into the fire’s origin continues.

Elevated to international prominence as a fashion model in the early 2010s, the London-born Delevingne has since established a formidable acting career. Her filmography includes notable roles in the 2016 DC Comics adaptation, Suicide Squad, and the visually striking Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, directed by Luc Besson in 2017. Further, her television work has garnered acclaim, particularly for her recent performances in the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, alongside Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, and her involvement in the 2023 season of FX’s American Horror Story.

While the full impact of the fire on Delevingne’s personal life and mementoes within the home remains immeasurable, the resilience she has demonstrated throughout her eclectic career suggests that this calamity, though devastating, marks not an end but the potential for a new and inspired beginning.
