Bollywood Buzz: Naezy’s Roller-Coaster Ride and Upcoming Entertainment Updates

Naezy, the popular rapper who rose to prominence among Bollywood enthusiasts following the release of Zoya Akhtar’s film “Gully Boy”, has recently shared his mixed feelings regarding the impact of the movie on his career trajectory. Despite the film being inspired by the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy, the latter believes that the portrayal has led to more harm than good for him personally.

“It’s tough to negate the fact that ‘Gully Boy’ helped in making me well-known among Bollywood fans,” Naezy remarked, reflecting on the film’s influence. He further shared how Zoya Akhtar discovered him through his debut song, “Aafat”. “Zoya ma’am appreciated my first song and the genre, which paved the way for my recognition among mainstream audiences. Although my debut song was well-received, the movie brought me to the limelight. However, it also resulted in unforeseen consequences,” he added.

Naezy expressed his concerns about the misconceptions that have arisen due to the movie. “Despite the filmmakers clarifying that the storyline was fictional, a significant portion of the audience continues to equate the movie’s narrative with my real-life journey. As a result, people have developed a negative perception of me and frequently compare my life to that of the protagonist in the film,” he explained. The 2019 film “Gully Boy” indeed chronicled the rise of a street rapper from the slums of Mumbai, drawing substantial inspiration from the lives of both Divine and Naezy.
