The highly anticipated Bollywood film Chhaava hit the screens on February 14, 2025. The Hindi historical stars Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film has minted Rs 33.10 crore at the India box office on its opening day, according to the makers. The collection is the highest opening figure in Vicky Kaushal’s career so far. The film enjoyed more than 1300 shows in the Mumbai region while it had around 1300 shows in the Delhi-NCR region. The makers also announced the film’s opening-day worldwide collection on social media.

Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, based on India’s airstrike at the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistan air war of 1965, had collected Rs 15 crore on its first day at the box office. The film, which released on January 24, 2025, was directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur.
Chhaava, bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, is on the life of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Akshay Khanna essays the role of Aurangzeb in the movie while Rashmika plays Yesubhai Bhonsale.

Chhaava will face a stiff competition from Captain America: Brave New world, directed by Julius Onah. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal is currently working on another historical, Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik and he is also part of Love & War, also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
