The cinematic atmosphere of Bollywood is charged with anticipation as the renowned actor Shah Rukh Khan gears up for the release of his latest film, ‘Dunki’. The film has been steadily gaining momentum, and SRK added to the excitement by unveiling a fresh track from the movie, ‘Dunki Drop 6: Banda’. Known for his charm and affectionate style, the superstar took to social media to express his admiration for the song’s artist, Diljit Dosanjh.
In an Instagram story, Khan praised Diljit, “Diljit paaji thank you for this. You are the coolest in the world. Big big jhappi to you and want to tell you ki jis tarah se aap ye kara rahe ho na kya bolte hai ye vibe ye mujhe bhi seekha do thodi si..thank you I love you very much and jab milunga tab ek hug bhi milega aur ek bada sa kiss karunga aapko..love you very much paaji thank you once again.”
The song, ‘Banda’, is centered around the narrative of Khan and his co-stars which include Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, among others. A unique ‘Dunki Diaries’ video was also released showcasing Khan and Pannu in deep conversation about the film’s story and creation with director Rajkumar Hirani.
During the clip, SRK humorously laments not having a personalized title like Aamir Khan in ‘PK’ or Sanjay Dutt in ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’. Rajkumar Hirani responded with a surprise reveal of a special song within ‘Dunki’ aptly titled ‘Banda’, which would give SRK his unique spotlight in the film. This is not the first collaboration of Khan and Diljit’s musical talents; Diljit previously lent his vocals to the song ‘Raula’ for the film ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, which also starred SRK and Anushka Sharma.
The excitement does not stop there, as Shah Rukh Khan also spoke highly of his co-star Vicky Kaushal during a promotion in Dubai, calling him “one of the finest actors” he has worked with and teasing audiences that they will fall in love with Kaushal’s performance in ‘Dunki’.
The film, penned by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, and Kanika Dhillon, promises to be an emotional rollercoaster, detailing the journey of four friends embarking on an adventure to fulfill their lifelong dreams. Ahead of its release, the makers of ‘Dunki’ also dropped an official trailer, ‘Dunki: Drop 4’, which transported viewers into Hirani’s narrative universe. It then pans to a scenic Punjab village where Khan, as Hardy, encounters an enthusiastic group of young men, all united by the dream to venture to London for a better future and to provide for their families.
The adventure comedy-drama is expected to hit the silver screens on December 21, 2023, globally.
