Exclusive: Taapsee Pannu Weds Mathias Boe in a Hush-Hush Udaipur Ceremony

Bollywood’s beloved star, Taapsee Pannu, has embarked on a new journey in her personal life as she solemnized her union with Mathias Boe, the esteemed badminton player, in the romantic city of Udaipur on March 23. The sacred nuptials were a private affair, echoing the serene beauty of the regal city, symbolizing the couple’s preference for intimacy over grandeur.

The celebrations surrounding their nuptials kicked off on March 20. Sources close to the couple revealed to News18 that the pair desired to keep their momentous occasion away from the prying eyes of the media, ensuring an atmosphere of warmth and candid joy, befitting their reserved personalities. The nuptial setting resonated with the tenderness and depth of the duet’s bond, with select friends and family in attendance, cherishing the moments of joy and love.

Among the cherished guests was Taapsee’s co-star from films “Dobaaraa” and “Thappad,” Pavail Gulati, who graced the event, adding his best wishes to the couple’s celebrations. Renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who has been a significant part of Taapsee’s cinematic journey in movies such as “Manmarziyaan” and “Dobaara,” as well as the producer of “Saand Ki Aankh,” flew in to partake in the close-knit ceremonies, underlining the closeness he shares with the actress.

Scriptwriter Kanika Dhillon, who has previously joined creative forces with Taapsee in various critically acclaimed projects such as “Haseen Dillruba” and “Manmarziyaan,” and is also associated with her upcoming projects “Dunki” and “Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba,” took to Instagram to share the joy with hashtag “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi,” depicting a snippet of the gleeful celebrations.

The merriment was evident across social media as Pavail Gulati shared a memorable photograph with Taapsee’s sister, Shagun Pannu, and her cousin, Evania Pannu, on his Instagram account, painting a lively picture of the wedding’s jovial mood.

It may seem like a tale from the silver screen, but Taapsee and Mathias’s real-life romance has its roots back to the time when she was an observer in the stands, watching Mathias play badminton. Mathias Boe, once a formidable force on the Danish badminton courts, won acclaim for his country with numerous titles in doubles and team events. Upon hanging up his shuttlecock and racket in 2020, he embraced the role of a coach. Mathias once humorously declared during Taapsee’s birthday roast in 2023, “Meri girlfriend sabse sunder hai,” a testament to their affectionate relationship.

On the professional front, Taapsee’s silver screen presence was last seen in the movie ‘Dunki,’ where she shared the canvas with a constellation of stars including Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal. Directed by the maestro Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Dunki’ delves into the treacherous realm of ‘Donkey Flight,’ the colloquial term for an illegal and perilous means of immigration.

The audience is poised to once again witness Taapsee’s prowess in ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba,’ the much-anticipated sequel to ‘Haseen Dilruba,’ which garnered an impressive reception upon its Netflix release in 2021. The upcoming film, also starring Vikrant Massey and Sunny Kaushal, is penned by Kanika Dhillon.

Moreover, Taapsee is slated to appear in ‘Khel Khel Mein,’ sharing the spotlight with Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor in a venture directed by Mudassar Aziz. The ensemble also includes Aditya Seal and Ammy Virk, with an official announcement detailing the film’s release eagerly awaited by fans.

With inputs from ANI, we congratulate the wedding couple and wish them prosperity in their new life together. As Taapsee Pannu and Mathias Boe begin their married life in the enchanting city of Udaipur, we are reminded that sometimes fairytale romances do come true, and love does indeed conquer all.
