Experience sub-zero temperatures in Visakhapatnam’s Snow Station

Imagine stepping into a world of snow right in the middle of Visakhapatnam’s tropical warmth! At Snow Station, the city’s first snow-themed amusement park, visitors can experience the chill of winter even during the scorching summer months. Located at Viswanadha Sports Club in Port Stadium, Akkayyapalem, this icy escape offers visitors a thrilling experience of sub-zero temperatures.
Developed with an investment of ₹10 crore, Snow Station spans across 10,000 square feet and maintains a chilly -8 degree Celsius. “The artificial snow here is crafted from 3.4 lakh litres of RO water with a Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) level of 55 maintaining quality and purity,” says V Rakesh Varma of Snow Station.

The experience begins at the entrance, where visitors are provided with jackets, gloves, and boots to brave the frosty temperatures inside. Once through the doors, a magical snowy landscape unfolds — thick layers of snow blanket the floor, turning every step into an ice-crunching delight. Play areas are designed for all age groups, making it a fun destination for families and adventure seekers alike.
The facility can accommodate up to 250 visitors per show. To maintain hygiene, a cleanliness drive is scheduled every month, during which four inches of ice is cleared off.
“We are planning to introduce an ice slide and trampoline soon. For Valentine’s Day, a heart-shaped ice selfie corner will be set up,” says Rakesh. Six to eight staff members are always present inside. Meanwhile, a heater outside provides a cosy retreat for those looking to warm up after their snow-filled adventure.
The shows are on from 10am to 9pm on an hourly basis. Entry fee is ₹700 and ₹649 for adults and children respectively. Children under three years of age and adults above 65 years of age are advised against entry due to extreme cold.
