Fahadh Faasil Embarks on an Exciting Journey with Arka Mediaworks in Forthcoming Telugu Ventures

The Indian film industry, particularly Telugu cinema, is poised for an exciting leap forward as Arka Mediaworks, the renowned production house that catapulted to fame with the 2015 magnum opus Baahubali, and Showing Business, the banner led by SS Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya, made a staggering announcement. On Tuesday, they revealed that they are co-producing not one, but two of Malayalam cinema’s luminary Fahadh Faasil’s upcoming Telugu movies.

The two much-anticipated films, aptly named Oxygen and Don’t Trouble The Trouble, are the brainchildren of newcomers Siddhartha Nadella and Shashank Yeleti, respectively, both setting their directorial sails for the first time. The movies’ announcement was bolstered by the release of striking first-look posters that feature the enigmatic Fahadh Faasil, each alluding to the unique narratives these films promise to weave.

Producer Shobu Yarlagadda of Arka Mediaworks shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration with Fahadh across both film projects. The venture clearly means more than just business; it is a fusion of passion, talent, and excitement. Yarlagadda expressed his thoughts on social media, “So many thoughts come to my mind as we announce these two amazing films! Firstly, working with the versatile and brilliant Fahadh Faasil, is super exciting for us, and that too on two projects is simply amazing!”

Karthikeya, on his own Twitter, expressed his astonishment at Fahadh’s readiness to embrace both scripts from the debut directors upon their first narration. He showered the actor with accolades, saying, “The man I have adored for so long, the epitome of versatility, the unmatched Fahadh Faasil… I love you so much, sir. This is our #Premalu to you. Thank you for encouraging a bunch of young talents and debutants.”

The story behind the conception of these films is no less fascinating. Two years ago, as they were developing an inspiring friendship-themed story with rookie Siddharth Nadella, a thrilling fantasy script by fellow neophyte Shashank Yeleti emerged, igniting equal excitement among the producers. They never anticipated, however, that the stars would align to have the same actor helm both movies.

Oxygen is described as “a tale of transformation and friendship,” a film rooted in real-life occurrences. Its artistic vision is supported by the cinematic expertise of Veda Vyas Gottipati and editing by Niranjan Devaramane. With production slated to commence later this year, Oxygen is already generating a buzz.

Don’t Trouble The Trouble, on the other hand, is shaping up to be a “fantasy that takes you on a rollercoaster ride of fun, thrills, and emotions,” its very description promising an entertaining journey. The fantasy feature, which is poised to begin shooting in June, with a projected release in 2025, boasts the visual styling of cinematographer Brad Francis and editor Praveen Anthony.

Both films are graced by the musical compositions of Kaala Bhairava, whose recent limelight includes a live performance of the Oscar-winning song “Naatu Naatu” from RRR at the 95th Academy Awards. Bhairava, the son of Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani, is surely expected to deliver scores that resonate with the dynamic themes of both movies.

With further casting and plot details shrouded in secrecy, the air of anticipation only thickens. Prasad Devineni joins the production crew, and the celebrated SS Rajamouli presents these promising cinematic ventures.

As the Indian film audience awaits with bated breath, these announcements signal a potential milestone for Telugu cinema. With a capable crew, an acclaimed production house, and the genius of Fahadh Faasil, Oxygen and Don’t Trouble The Trouble may just be the next big things to watch out for in the diverse and vibrant landscape of Indian cinema.
