Have you heard? The ex factor

As the television world eagerly anticipates the unveiling of the 11th episode of the celebrity talk show “Koffee with Karan Season 8,” whispers of the grand finale have already begun circulating among the entertainment circuit. In a remarkable reunion, the eminent Bollywood personalities Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are slated to partake in an honest dialogue with the show’s congenial host, Karan Johar.

The confluence of Aamir and Kiran on the illustrious couch marks a recurrence for the pair, having formerly shared the spotlight over a decade past in the show’s fourth season. Back in that instance, the audience’s eyes were on Aamir’s much-anticipated performance in the action spectacle “Dhoom 3” (2013). However, the forthcoming finale episode garners significance as it will be the first occasion the duo appears together on the show post their divorce, breaking new ground as the first ex-couple to do so. Initially hesitant, both Aamir and Kiran were reluctant to accept Johar’s invitation. With gentle prodding and persuasive conversation, they ultimately concurred, coinciding with the release of Kiran’s upcoming directorial project that she is producing alongside Aamir, scheduled for a March debut. The duo is expected to shed light on their decision to terminate their marital union while elucidating the choice to maintain a harmonious friendship and continue their professional collaboration.

Karan Johar himself has made headlines recently, discussing his perspective on the reception of films in cinemas. He shared insights into the authenticity of audience reactions, noting that genuine cinema-goers often discreetly exit post screening, in contrast to those who openly criticize films, aiming for viral notoriety on social media platforms. Johar revealed that, at times, movie studios dispatch individuals to laud their films publicly. Straddling the fine line between critiquing criticism and exploiting positive reviews, Johar admitted that he tailors his response to the performance of his own films. A candid confession by the filmmaker acknowledged that while successful movies allow him to refrain from promotional exploits, less impressive box office results compel him to amplify the perceived success.

In the realm of biographical series, Applause Entertainment is taking on the ambitious task of chronicling the lives of Mahatma Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. Under the directorial guidance of Hansal Mehta, Ramachandra Guha’s biographical texts “Gandhi Before India” and “Gandhi—The Years That Changed the World” will be adapted into the series “Gandhi,” with actor Pratik Gandhi embodying the role of Mahatma. Meanwhile, Nagesh Kukunoor is set to direct “Trail of an Assassin,” an adaptation of Anirudhya Mitra’s “Ninety Days: The True Story of the Hunt for Rajiv Gandhi’s Assassin,” starring Rajiv Kumar as the late Prime Minister.

Director Siddharth Anand is on a quest to replicate the success of his recent blockbuster “Pathaan” (2023) with “Fighter,” scheduled for a Republic Day release. While fans eagerly await the trailer featuring stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, rumors have pointed to an excessively long runtime. Anand put these rumors to rest, affirming through social media that “Fighter” clocks in at less than two hours and forty minutes. The movie, an aerial action thriller, also features Anil Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, and Karan Singh Grover in key roles as Indian Air Force officers.

Actor Junior NTR was caught in an unforeseen circumstance, compelled to abbreviate his holiday in Japan due to a series of seismic tremors measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale, leading to extensive damage and mass evacuations. Having anticipated celebrating the advent of 2024 in Japan with his family, the actor was fortunate to return home securely. Shaken by the natural calamity, Jr NTR expressed his solidarity and hopes for Japan’s expedited recovery via social media.

Kicking off the new year with an emblematic personal touch, Arjun Kapoor has adorned his leg with fresh ink – a tattoo depicting the mythological phoenix, an enduring symbol of rebirth, along with the term ‘rise.’ The tattoo stands as a testament to Arjun’s hopeful outlook, symbolic of his eagerness to triumph in the face of past challenges. Coming off the heels of a less-than-stellar project, “The Lady Killer,” Kapoor looks forward to a slate of prospective hit films such as the tentatively named “Mere Husband Ki Biwi” and Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again” slated for release this year.
