Have you heard? Wedding festivities

A flurry of excitement surrounds the upcoming wedding of Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, to her fiance Nupur Shikhare, scheduled for January 3. The pre-wedding revelries have already begun in earnest, bringing together the families of the bride and groom for a delightful inaugural ceremony.

At the heart of these festivities was an authentic Maharashtrian meal, elegantly presented on traditional banana leaves, which are often used in place of plates for their eco-friendliness and cultural significance. Ira herself took to social media to offer a peek into the joyous occasion, exuberant on the customs surrounding a Maharashtrian wedding, known as ‘Kelvan.’ She posted, “My God guys, get married to a Maharashtrian and get a Kelvan. How fun is this?”

In the midst of these celebratory times, Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, reflected on a past cinematic opportunity. He brought up ‘Munna Bhai MBBS,’ during a promotional event for ‘Dunki,’ his film with Rajkumar Hirani, that’s currently impressing audiences in its second week. SRK revealed that while he was working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas,’ Hirani, who was then editing the film, proposed a script to him. Without even hearing the script, charmed by the title, SRK signed on for the film. However, after engaging in six months of pre-production, an unfortunate back injury forced him to step away from the role. The decision, made in mutual understanding that the film could not be delayed, led to Sanjay Dutt stepping into the role initially meant for another character, Zaheer. This stroke of fate redefined the movie’s cast and shaped what became an iconic film in Bollywood history.

In another corner of tinsel town, television stars Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla shared their happiness over becoming parents to twin girls. The couple, embracing their new roles as parents, revealed the names of their one-month-old daughters, Jeeva and Edhaa, on a day considered auspicious by many. “Excited and extremely happy to share that our daughters, Jeeva and Edhaa are one month old today. The universe blessed us on the auspicious day of Guru Purab! Send in your wishes for our angels,” they shared through social media, along with snapshots from a ceremonial puja and havan marking the occasion.

The buzz doesn’t stop there as romantic rumors have fueled the celebrity mill once again. Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday set the paparazzi abuzz, as they were recently spotted at the airport to jet off to a holiday destination — separately but within minutes of each other. The pair, whose relationship rumors sparked during a getaway in Lisbon, seem to prefer chilly retreats for the New Year’s celebrations. Yet, despite the public speculation and vacationing together, both remain coy about their official relationship status.

Adding to the list of clarifications among star relationships, Shruti Haasan, alongside her partner Shantanu Hazarika, addressed the swirling marriage rumors. The speculation had gained traction owing to a social media comment by Orhan Awatramani, who referred to Hazarika as Shruti’s husband. In her typical candid fashion, Shruti denied the rumors, stating, “I’m not married. For someone who has been open about every single thing, why would I lie about this? Lol! So people who don’t know me at all, please calm down.”

As the year draws to a close, it’s become a ritual for Bollywood celebrities to seek out picturesque vacation spots. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are among those who have made their family getaway to Gstaad, Switzerland, a tradition for over a decade. This favored holiday destination, a symbol of their marital togetherness since 2012, serves as the perfect backdrop for their New Year’s festivities and winter sports adventures, with sons Taimur and Jeh in tow. The snowy Alpine vistas marked another chapter in their book of cherished family memories.

As the curtain falls on another eventful year, the celebrations, revelations, and holiday getaways of Bollywood’s beloved personalities continue to captivate the public imagination, making every shared moment a headline worthy of remembrance.
