Hrithik Roshan celebrates his team member Sushil’s birthday calls him the ‘wind beneath his wings’

In an atmosphere charged with anticipation for the premiere of his latest action-packed movie ‘Fighter’, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan took a moment to shine the spotlight on a different kind of hero – Sushil Sharma, a long-standing member of his team. Amidst the flurry of promotional events and screenings, Roshan extended warm birthday wishes to Sharma, whom he affectionately dubbed as the ‘wind beneath his wings’, through a touching post on his social media.

The prestigious actor, Hrithik Roshan, is on the cusp of the launch of ‘Fighter’, a movie that is already creating waves in the cinema world and slated to hit theaters today. Following a special movie screening at the YRF office in Mumbai on Wednesday night, Roshan and his team rolled into celebration mode for Sushil Sharma’s birthday. Sharma, who has been a part of Roshan’s journey for over a decade, shares his birthday with the film’s release date, adding a layer of festivity to the occasion. Roshan shared snippets of the birthday festivities on his social media, showcasing a video that captured the merriment of Sharma slicing through his birthday cake, surrounded by Roshan and other team members.

The celebratory video also featured a glimpse of Roshan’s girlfriend, the actress Saba Azad, and his cousin Pashmina Roshan, both engrossed in the joy of the moment. The post resonated with affection as Roshan expressed his gratitude towards Sharma, stating, “Happy birthday to the man who is the wind beneath my wings! It is an honor for me that you are a part of my team Sushil. May we fly together forever. Happy birthday my Fighter! Love you”.

Amidst his hectic schedule, Roshan juggled multiple screenings of ‘Fighter’ on Wednesday. Prior to the Mumbai event, he was present in Delhi alongside co-star Deepika Padukone for a screening held in honor of Indian Air Force officers. Joining them were director Siddharth Anand and veteran actor Anil Kapoor. This screening took place in a theater nestled within the diplomatic enclave of Chanakyapuri.

As the clock ticks towards the one-year anniversary of Anand’s last directorial triumph ‘Pathaan’, his latest offering ‘Fighter’ is all set to take audiences on a high-octane ride festooned with action and a potent dose of patriotism. The story is said to draw inspiration, albeit loosely, from the Balakot airstrikes, part of the aftermath of the Pulwama attack in 2019.

The film, however, found itself being compared to the iconic ‘Top Gun’ series, particularly due to its use of riveting aerial sequences. Roshan, addressing these comparisons, noted distinct differences between the two films, especially highlighting the unique narrative journey of ‘Fighter.’ Anand echoed Roshan’s sentiments, acknowledging the comparisons as flattering but making it clear that any similarity with ‘Top Gun’ was merely superficial and essentially ended with the shared presence of aircraft in both movies. He elaborated on the pride taken in creating a film dedicated to one country, with a more modest budget compared to Hollywood blockbusters, and emphasized the originality of ‘Fighter.’

As Roshan stepped out to showcase ‘Fighter’, the actor proved that his dedication extends beyond the silver screen, honoring the unsung heroes like Sushil Sharma, who play pivotal roles in the wings of Bollywood’s glittering stage. It’s the spirit of camaraderie and the celebration of such crucial support systems that often go unnoticed amidst the limelight, paralleling the essence of ‘Fighter’ – recognizing and valuing the individuals who contribute toward a greater cause.
