Ira Khan-Nupur Shikhare’s pre-wedding function held at Galaxy Apartment but not hosted by Salman Khan

A buzz of excitement and glamour surrounds the pre-wedding celebrations of Ira Khan, Aamir Khan’s daughter, with her long-time beau Nupur Shikhare. The Khan and Shikhare families, steeped in happiness and anticipation, marked the commencement of the wedding ceremonies at a renowned location in Mumbai, the Galaxy Apartments. This particular site is more famously associated with another Bollywood heavyweight, Salman Khan, leading to mistaken rumors that the ‘Tiger 3’ star was the host for the occasion. Contrary to these speculations, the pre-wedding function was held within the same complex but not at Salman Khan’s residence.

The happy occasion saw Aamir Khan exuding warmth and joy, joined by his son Junaid and other close relatives. Kiran Rao, Aamir’s ex-wife, was also present with their son Azad, adding to the familial support for Ira on her special day. The atmosphere was one of familial bliss, as the two families gathered to celebrate the impending nuptials. Not available away from the limelight, Ira Khan herself drew significant attention. Casual yet chic, she was photographed wearing a comfortable short skirt and shirt ensemble, while Aamir Khan flaunted an uber-relaxed style as he amiably posed for the paparazzi.

The day’s celebrations were only a piece of the puzzle in what is to unfold as a series of joyous events leading up to the wedding. Earlier, glimpses of traditional charm were observed as Kiran Rao and Ira’s mother, Reena Dutta, were seen adorned in traditional nauvaari sarees, presumably as part of the haldi ceremony—a ritual known for its fun and significance in the pre-wedding customs.

As we near the main events, a source with Mid-day unveils details about the wedding plans. In what promises to be an intimate yet spirited affair, the mehendi ceremony will concurrently serve as a sangeet, featuring a hearty mix of music and dance that will have attendees swaying to its rhythm. On January 3rd, the wedding is set to occur at Taj Lands End in Bandra and will initiate with the ‘Antarpat’ ceremony, a prime ritual where the couple is separated by a silk cloth before setting eyes on each other at an auspicious moment. The ceremonies will have a devotional kick-off with a Ganpati puja followed by a special sankalp, where vows written by the bride and groom will be read out.

Post-wedding, the newlyweds will indulge in private celebrations and a brief holiday before returning to host their grand reception, which is expected to be nothing short of starry and lavish. Originally planned to take place in Jaipur or Delhi, the reception is now set to be hosted in Mumbai. Over a thousand guests, including Aamir’s friends from Bollywood and honorable dignitaries, are anticipated to be part of the glittering guest list.

As the Khan and Shikhare families weave together the tapestries of these cheerful ceremonies, well-wishers and fans eagerly await more glimpses into the opulence and warmth that define these moments. True to the big heartedness that Bollywood is known for, the pipeline of events underscores not only the unions of two individuals but also celebrates the spirit of family, tradition, and a touch of cinematic splendor.
