The trailer for Gopichand Malineni’s Bollywood debut directorial Jaat was released on Monday (March 24, 2025). The upcoming Hindi-language action thriller is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory. It features actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Regina Cassandra, and Saiyami Kher among others.
The almost three-minute-long trailer saw Sunny Deol play the titular role as he promises to bring down Ranatunga’s (Hooda) Lanka in his quest for justice.
The film is set in a fictional town marred with injustice and brutality, with Regina Cassandra’s character noting that even God is scared to set foot in this Lanka. Emerging into a land plagued by stacks of black money and corpses, Jaat intends to save the day and deliver justice to the people of the village.
The trailer closes with Deol’s character proclaiming, “Ye dhai kilo ke haath ki taakat pura north dekh chuka hain. Ab south dekhega,” (The north has already seen the power of this two-and-half-kilo arm. Now, it is the south’s turn.)
Deol was last seen in Gadar 2, the sequel to the 2001 film, which became the highest-grossing film of his career. The actor is set to headline Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947, which is being produced by Amir Khan. He has also begun shooting for Border 2 which is being helmed by Anurag Singh
This action thriller marks Malineni’s entry into Bollywood who is best known for directing Telugu action films such as Don Seenu, Bodyguard, Balupu, and Veera Simha Reddy.
Randeep Hooda is all set to team up with director Sam Hargrave once again for Apple Original Films’ upcoming action thriller Matchbox, alongside John Cena, Variety reported. This is his second collaboration with the director after the success of their 2020 Netflix hit, Extraction.
Jaat will be released in theatres on April 10 this year.
