JSW Paints ‘Futurescapes’ painting competition to be held jointly with The Hindu Young World

Unleashing creativity and imagination, JSW Paints, in collaboration with The Hindu Young World, announces the commencement of the ‘Futurescapes’ painting competition 2024, specifically tailored for school students across various age groups. Entries are officially welcomed before the submission deadline, which is set for February 27.

Under the inspiring theme ‘Think Beautiful’, the competition is structured to unfold in stages, progressing from preliminary rounds to regional heats, and culminating in a grand national finale. Participants will be categorized based on their educational levels: sub-junior (class three-five); junior (class six-eight); and seniors (class nine-12).

The assigned themes are designed to resonate with the corresponding age groups and stir their thoughts. For the sub-junior category, the prompts include ‘A day at the zoo’, ‘Underwater dreamland’, and ‘My happy family’. These topics aim to evoke scenes filled with innocence and joy, as these young artists translate their vision of beauty onto paper.

The junior category presents with slightly more complex themes including ‘A day in the theme park’, ‘Animal Olympics’, and ‘Sharing a rainbow.’ Students in this bracket are encouraged to blend their burgeoning understanding of the world with their boundless imagination to create vibrant works of art.

As for the senior students, the themes take on a more abstract dimension with topics like ‘Journey to outer space’, ‘A zero-pollution world’, and ‘Unity in diversity’. This bracket challenges participants to not only display their artistic skills but also to conceptualize and depict more profound themes that require contemplation and insight.

The participants are allowed to use watercolors, crayons, and color pencils to bring their artistic visions to life on an A3 white drawing sheet, measuring the standard size of 11.7×16.5 inches. Outlining with sketch pens and markers is permitted to provide clear definition to their artworks.

In order for the submissions to be considered for the next round, it is imperative for the participants to include their topic, name, class, school name with branch, city, state, category of participation, as well as their parent’s name, e-mail ID, and mobile number on the backside of their drawing. These crucial details keep the competition orderly and ensure that each young artist’s work can be properly recognized and assessed.

Submissions should be physically mailed to the nearest office of The Hindu with the description ‘Young World – JSW Futurescapes Painting Competition 2024.’ It is important to note that each eager participant may submit only one entry for deliberation.

The selected entrants who successfully advance beyond the preliminary stage will be notified through the provided email and mobile number, where they will also receive further instructions for the subsequent rounds of the competition.

For those seeking more information or clarification on the competition rules, or how to dispatch their entries, a dedicated website has been launched at ywc.thehindu.com/jswpaints. In addition, The Hindu Group Customer Care can be reached for immediate assistance at the toll-free number 1800 102 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

This initiative by JSW Paints and The Hindu Young World is not only a celebration of artistic potential among the youth but also a significant step towards involving the younger generation in the larger conversation about beautifying our future. It is a reminder that the environment, community, and indeed the world we aspire to create is one that is painted with the broad strokes of our collective imagination and the vibrant hues of hope.
