Kamya Panjabi Talks About Her Special Karwa Chauth Celebrations

New Delhi: The auspicious festival of Karwa Chauth, celebrated predominantly by married women across India, is a distinctive symbol of love, devotion, and the profound connection that binds together life partners. As the festival draws near, television actress Kamya Panjabi, renowned for her role as Mohini in the popular series “Ishq Jabariya,” takes a moment to reflect on what Karwa Chauth means to her personally.

For Kamya, the festival has taken on a new level of significance since meeting her husband Shalabh Dang. “Karwa Chauth holds a very special place in my heart, especially since I met Shalabh,” Kamya expressed with warmth and enthusiasm. “It was after meeting him that I began observing the fast, and each year, the experience is unique and filled with different special memories.” Kamya delights in the style and tradition that accompany the festival. “I enjoy experimenting with different looks each year—whether it’s donning a bright lehenga, an elegant Banarasi saree, or accessorizing with a colorful gajra,” she added with a smile.

Walking down memory lane, Kamya shared one of her fondest reminiscences of Karwa Chauth, a celebration she experienced last year with her mother-in-law in Delhi. “Last year was unforgettable. I celebrated with my mother-in-law, and we both woke up early for sargi, which is a pre-dawn meal,” Kamya narrated. “It was special because, with my hectic work schedule, it’s not often that I get to be in Delhi for Karwa Chauth. The atmosphere there is remarkable—delightfully grand and lively, marking a level of celebration unmatched in grandeur.”

This year, however, the actress will be marking the occasion in Mumbai due to her commitments with “Ishq Jabariya,” a show that airs on Sun Neo. “This year, because of my busy shooting schedule for this show, I’ll be in Mumbai,” Kamya explained.
