Kangana Ranaut Accuses Bollywood of Envy and Silence Over Her Film “Emergency”

New Delhi: In yet another outspoken moment, Kangana Ranaut has lambasted the Bollywood industry for maintaining a studied silence regarding her upcoming film “Emergency.” The actress-turned-politician is gearing up for the release of this highly anticipated film, which delves into the life of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. As she continues to promote her project, Kangana has not held back on her criticism, labeling the Bollywood fraternity as ‘zehrila’ (poisonous) for their lack of support.

Speaking to Mashable India, Kangana expressed her frustrations candidly. According to her, the Bollywood clique is envious of her accomplishments and is deliberately avoiding any discussion about “Emergency.” She, however, did take a moment to commend industry veterans Anupam Kher and Shreyas Talpade for their unwavering support. “These people are utterly poisonous and envious. But look at Anupam Ji and Shreyas, they will come if you invite them with humility! There’s no doubt about that. Today, I haven’t come across a single commendable film that I haven’t praised, regardless of who made it,” she stated.

Kangana’s critique didn’t just stop at the industry’s silence on her film. She took a swipe at actors and actresses who spend considerable time in gyms, suggesting that they confuse physical workouts with genuine hard work. She opined, “Look at these people. How they are hiding without saying a word now that ‘Emergency’ is coming out. Filled with such poison and envy… because they received everything easily. They believe going to the gym is hard work! True hard work is about building your character, exercising integrity, strength, and emotions.”

Kangana Ranaut has frequently voiced her disapproval of Bollywood’s tendency to overlook or fail to appreciate her work publicly. She has often described Bollywood as a rather hopeless place where gatekeepers stifle the careers of talented artists. Her latest comments come as no surprise to those familiar with her bold and unfiltered opinions.

Continuing her conversation with Mashable India, Kangana delved deeper into the issue of envy within Bollywood. “These people are simply envious of me. They keep quiet and don’t talk about ‘Emergency.

.’ But individuals like Anupam Ji and Shreyas are different. If you invite them modestly, they will come. There’s never been a good film that I haven’t praised, no matter who it belongs to,” she reiterated, underscoring her sense of principled support for quality cinema, unlike, as she describes, her ‘poisonous’ peers.

Later in the interview, Kangana didn’t hold back in criticizing the superficial efforts of some actors. Pointing out their time spent in gyms, she argued, “Observe how these people hide. ‘Emergency’ is about to release, and they won’t say a word. They are filled with such poison and envy because they received things without putting in real effort. They think that going to the gym is hard work. Hard work, in reality, is about your character, how you exercise your integrity, strength, and emotions.”

This repetitive yet passionate sentiment made it clear that Kangana doesn’t believe in half-measures. Her indictment of the industry’s gatekeepers, who she alleges actively work to kill the careers of promising artists, paints a bleak picture of the democratic ideals Bollywood occasionally claims to uphold.

But it’s not all gloom for Kangana. She emphasized that there are still a few good men and women in Bollywood who believe in supporting good cinema regardless of their vested interests. Her high praises for Anupam Kher and Shreyas Talpade offered a glimmer of hope that perhaps not everyone in the industry operates out of envy or spite.

Despite the biting criticism, Kangana continues to focus on the release of “Emergency,” a project she’s evidently passionate about. Through her continued promotional efforts, she remains unyielding in her attempt to bring attention to her work, regardless of the industry’s reluctance to do so.

In her closing remarks, she added, “Look at these people. How they sit quiet now that ‘Emergency’ is about to release. They’re filled with such poison and envy because they’ve had everything handed to them without any hard work. They believe that just going to the gym is hard work. True hard work lies in your character and how you exercise your integrity, strength, and emotions.”

Kangana’s forthright comments have always sparked debate, and this instance is no different. As she perseveres in promoting “Emergency,” it remains to be seen if the Bollywood fraternity will eventually break its silence or continue to stay hidden, reinforcing Kangana’s bold claims about their inherent envy and destructive gatekeeping.
