Kangana Ranaut Gears Up for New Movie ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’

Mumbai – In a striking development for Bollywood’s queen of controversy, Kangana Ranaut has signed on for a brand new cinematic venture while anxiously awaiting the release of her politically charged film ‘Emergency’. On Tuesday, noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that Kangana will be the leading role in the upcoming film titled ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’.

Adarsh enthusiastically posted, “KANGANA RANAUT TO STAR IN ‘BHARAT BHHAGYA VIDDHAATA’… #KanganaRanaut will essay the central role in #BharatBhhagyaViddhaata… The film will showcase the remarkable stories of ordinary people and their extraordinary achievements.”

The narrative of ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ seeks to delve into the lives of everyday individuals who accomplish extraordinary feats. Set to be directed and written by Manoj Tapadia, who has made a name for himself through impactful storytelling, the film promises to be a compelling exploration of unsung heroes. Babita Ashiwal of Eunoia Films and Adi Sharmaa from Floating Rocks Entertainment are tagged as producers, combining their experienced production houses to bring this ambitious project to life.

“The film centers on the people without whom the country would cease to function – the working-class heroes, the blue-collar employees,” noted Adarsh in his series of X posts.

Babita Ashiwal shared her excitement about this collaboration, expressing that “working on this project has been incredibly rewarding. Our goal is to create content that captivates our audience. With Kangana on board, we are confident the movie will strike the right chord.” She further emphasized that the film “aims to spotlight the invaluable contributions of these everyday individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes.”

Meanwhile, Kangana is no stranger to public and political stirs, and her ongoing saga with ‘Emergency’ continues to develop.

. ‘Emergency’ is a biographical drama that delves into the life of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the turbulent period from 1975 to 1977 when she imposed a 21-month emergency period across the nation.

Last week, the actress used her social media platforms to reveal that ‘Emergency’ is still awaiting certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Earlier reports mistakenly suggested that ‘Emergency’ had received the green light, only to have Kangana clarify that the certification was still pending due to severe complications.

“There have been rumours circulating that my film ‘Emergency’ has been certified by the Censor Board. This is not true. While our film did receive clearance from the CBFC, the certification is on hold due to numerous death threats against members of the censor board,” Kangana stated candidly.

The actress’s remarks also delved into the controversial aspects of her upcoming film, which includes sensitive topics such as the assassination of Indira Gandhi and the Punjab riots. “There is pressure being put on us to remove certain scenes. Now, I don’t know what else to show. What are we supposed to do – blackout the film during these scenes? This is unbelievable to me, and I am deeply sorry for the current state of thinking in this country,” she added.

‘Emergency’ features a star-studded cast, including Anupam Kher and the late Satish Kaushik. Originally slated for a September 6 release, the film’s launch now hovers in uncertainty due to these regulatory hang-ups.

Amid this standoff with the CBFC, fans and industry peers alike are eagerly awaiting how Kangana will navigate this turbulent phase. Her bold and confrontational stance continues to make headlines, revealing the challenges inherent in producing politically tinged art in today’s climate.

On the other hand, ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ appears set to provide an evocative contrast to the politically potent ‘Emergency’. With a script focused on everyday heroes and their monumental undertakings, the film is likely to resonate broadly with audiences who gravitate towards inspirational and human-centric tales.

As Kangana balances these dual roles—one as a historical figure drawing controversy and another as a torchbearer for the unsung heroes of the nation—the spotlight remains firmly fixed on one of Bollywood’s most unyielding and versatile actresses. Her journey through these ambitious projects will undoubtedly be one to watch, blending artistic fervor with narrative depth in ways few can match.
