Kangana Ranaut to Headline ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ as Release of ‘Emergency’ Still Pending

Mumbai: While awaiting crucial clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for her film ‘Emergency’, Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut has committed to a new cinematic venture. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh broke the news on Tuesday via his social media on X (formerly known as Twitter), announcing that Kangana will lead the cast in the upcoming film ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’.

“KANGANA RANAUT TO STAR IN ‘BHARAT BHHAGYA VIDDHAATA’… #KanganaRanaut will essay the central role in #BharatBhhagyaViddhaata… The film will showcase the remarkable stories of ordinary people and their extraordinary achievements,” Adarsh posted, igniting a wave of anticipation among fans and the film fraternity alike.

Manoj Tapadia, renowned for his previous directorial works, will be at the helm of this new project. The film is being produced by Babita Ashiwal under Eunoia Films and Adi Sharmaa of Floating Rocks Entertainment. According to the producers, ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ will “centre on the unsung heroes who form the backbone of the nation—the working-class heroes, the blue-collar employees.”

Discussing the collaboration with Kangana, Babita Ashiwal expressed her enthusiasm: “Working on this project has been incredibly rewarding. Our goal is to create content that captivates our audience. With Kangana on board, we are confident the movie will strike the right chord.”

The film aims to spotlight the invaluable contributions of everyday individuals who toil behind the scenes, making the country function seamlessly. By putting the spotlight on their tireless efforts, the makers intend to raise awareness and appreciation for these often-overlooked working-class heroes.

Simultaneously, Kangana is eagerly awaiting the release of ‘Emergency’, a political drama that delves into the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film focuses on the controversial 21-month emergency period imposed by Gandhi from 1975 to 1977.

. The anticipation surrounding the film reached a peak last week when Kangana took to social media to shed light on the delay in its certification process.

“Rumours have been circulating that my film ‘Emergency’ has been certified by the Censor Board. This is not true,” Kangana stated in a recent social media post. Despite initial reports indicating that ‘Emergency’ had received CBFC clearance, she revealed that the certification is currently on hold owing to numerous death threats received by board members.

“There is pressure being put on us to remove certain scenes, such as the assassination of Indira Gandhi, the Punjab riots, and more,” Kangana explained. “Now, I don’t know what else to show. What are we supposed to do—blackout the film during these scenes? This is unbelievable to me, and I am deeply sorry for the current state of thinking in this country,” she added, reflecting her frustration over the situation.

The film ‘Emergency’ is notable not only for its political subject matter but also for its star-studded cast, including veteran actors Anupam Kher and the late Satish Kaushik. Initially slated for a September 6 release, the uncertainty surrounding its certification has put its release date in limbo, adding to the film’s tumultuous journey to the big screen.

Amid these turbulent times, the announcement of ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ brings a glimmer of hope and excitement. Directed by Manoj Tapadia, whose previous films have been well-received, the new project promises a gripping narrative underscored by powerful performances.

Tapadia’s creative vision and storytelling prowess are anticipated to bring a fresh perspective to the big screen, focusing on narratives that resonate deeply with the audience. The combination of his direction and Kangana’s versatile acting skills suggests that ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ will be a significant cinematic experience.

The film’s production houses, Eunoia Films and Floating Rocks Entertainment, also share a common vision of producing meaningful content that holds a mirror to society. Babita Ashiwal and Adi Sharmaa’s involvement assures a level of quality and dedication that promises to make this film a remarkable addition to Bollywood’s roster.

In conclusion, as Kangana Ranaut navigates through the complexities surrounding ‘Emergency’, her new venture ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ has begun to create its own buzz. This upcoming film not only underscores her continuing influence in Indian cinema but also her unceasing dedication to roles that highlight social and political paradigms. While ‘Emergency’ remains in a state of suspension, ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ is set to illuminate the life stories of ordinary Indians whose extraordinary efforts keep the nation running.
