Kareena Kapoor’s Sisterly Shenanigans: Karisma Kapoor Shares a Light-Hearted Confession

Bollywood’s beloved sister duo, Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, often capture the hearts of their fans, both through their engrossing on-screen performances and their heartfelt off-screen sibling camaraderie. These iconic actresses illuminate every family gathering and event with their togetherness, evidencing a strong familial bond that resonates well beyond the glitz of cinema.

In a recent promotional spree for her upcoming film “Murder Mubarak,” Karisma Kapoor brought a glimpse of this sisterly bond to the limelight in a video shared by Netflix India. The promotional effort not only aims to create buzz around the cinematic release but also offers an intimate peek into the lives of the Kapoor sisters, stirred with a sprinkle of humor.

As Karisma gears up for a return to the silver screen with “Murder Mubarak,” set for release on the 15th of March, 2024, she fondly reflects upon the quirks of sibling dynamics in the charming Netflix clip. When probed to disclose one act of sisterly mischief Kareena indulged in that irked her, Karisma good-naturedly divulged that Bebo had a habit of absconding with her jeans without returning them—a common, relatable scuffle shared among many siblings.

The video further piqued interest when Karisma was questioned about her stint as a big sister. She chuckled, disclaiming any allegations of bullying with the words, “I am such a good elder sister, no bullying ever.” Many elder siblings might contest such a claim, but it’s clear that playful teasing is integral to the Kapoor sister dynamic.

Adding a pinch of nostalgia to the conversation, Karisma was asked about the famed and catchy song ‘What is mobile number?’ from her 1999 film “Haseena Maan Jayegi.” Interestingly, despite the song’s popularity, Karisma admits to never having used the line in real life—a fact that might come as a surprise to many fans who’ve seen her deliver it with catchy panache on screen and stage.

Viewers can witness Karisma’s candid revelations in the video hosted on Netflix India’s official Instagram account, a post that echoes the excitement and anticipation of her fans. This digital snippet, however limited, has contributed to elevating the pre-release enthusiasm for “Murder Mubarak.”

Beyond being just a return to form for Karisma, five years after her appearance in “Mentalhood” (2019), “Murder Mubarak” promises to be a cinematic escapade loaded with suspense, humor, and the thrilling quest to unravel a perplexing murder. The film, helmed by director Homi Adajania, is set against the backdrop of The Royal Delhi Club where a gripping narrative unfolds around seven suspects, each cloaked with potential motives for the crime.

Famed actor Pankaj Tripathi steps into the role of an Investigating Officer, tasked with the complex job of dissecting this bewitching mystery. The film’s ensemble includes a host of talented actors like Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Sanjay Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Suhail Nayyar, and Aashim Gulati.

Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director of Original Films at Netflix India, in her enthusiasm for the project, has stated, “Murder Mubarak is a distinctive blend of suspense and comedy, combining the best of both genres. True to its intriguing title, the film is gripping and entertaining, brought to life by a stellar ensemble star cast. We are thrilled to present another entertaining film from our successful collaboration with Maddock Films.”

The anticipation for “Murder Mubarak” continues to build as cinema buffs await the convergence of this striking star-studded lineup and the storytelling finesse of Homi Adajania. With the stage set and the curtain soon to rise, the mystery and comedy knit into the fabric of this thrilling narrative are poised to captivate audiences like never before.
