Cine 1 Studios is adamant that they were guaranteed a 35% share of the profits as well as an equivalent stake in the film’s intellectual property rights. Sandeep Sethi, the legal representative for Cine 1, has expressed that his client has been left in the dark regarding the film’s earnings from theatrical performance and subsequent rights for digital and satellite distributions, stating they haven’t received “even a single penny.”
The courtroom was stirred when T-Series’ counsel, Amit Siba, contended that Cine 1 had made no actual investments in “Animal.” Refuting the claims made by the opposing party’s lawyer, Siba revealed that T-Series had already disbursed a substantial payment of Rs 2.6 crore to Cine 1 and accused them of omitting this crucial information in their statements to the court. This development came to light when Justice Sanjeev Narula, presiding over the case, made an inquiry regarding the alleged payment to which Cine 1’s lawyer admitted ignorance of such a transaction, citing that the document had not been brought to his notice. He vowed to consult with his client and update the court accordingly.
