Love & War: A Magnum Opus by Sanjay Leela Bhansali to Begin Filming This October

In a highly anticipated move, acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is set to bring his ambitious project “Love & War” to life. The impending film, headlined by a stellar cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is set against the dramatic and tumultuous backdrop of warfare. Marking a notable return for Bhansali, the shooting for this epic tale will commence in early October.

The narrative of “Love & War” centers on a gripping love triangle amidst the chaos and tragedy of war. Bhansali, known for his grandeur and emotional storytelling, will initiate the shoot with Ranbir Kapoor, portraying a character with morally ambiguous shades. Kapoor, an actor lauded for his versatile roles, will soon be joined by Vicky Kaushal. The pair will film scenes highlighting their characters’ complex camaraderie, adding depth to the story.

Alia Bhatt, who is currently immersed in shooting for her upcoming spy thriller “Alpha,” will join the “Love & War” set in December. Bhatt, a consistent powerhouse in Indian cinema, has committed her schedule to ensure she is wholly available for Bhansali’s film after finishing “Alpha.” It is reported that the trio of lead actors has collectively allotted over 200 days exclusively for this project. This dedication ensures that no other commitments will divert their focus until their roles in “Love & War” are fully realized.

As Bhansali gears up for what is expected to be a monumental release by Christmas 2025, industry insiders are buzzing with speculation on whether the ambitious timeline will hold. Given Bhansali’s reputation for detailed and often time-consuming production processes, completing the film by September 2025 will undoubtedly test the limits of his team’s capabilities.

In another development within the entertainment industry, producer Dinesh Vijan has altered the release strategy for the Akshay Kumar-led “SkyForce.” Initially expected to debut on October 2, the aerial action thriller’s release is now postponed. This decision aims to create a more significant gap between Kumar’s other projects hitting the big screen. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, “SkyForce” also features Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and introduces Veer Pahariya to the silver screen. Sources suggest that the film might now see a release in the first quarter of 2025, aligning with other patriotic releases.

Meanwhile, the production team of “Welcome to the Jungle,” fronted by Akshay Kumar, has refuted rumors of any delay.

Directed by Arati Kadav, “Mrs” is an adaptation of the Malayalam hit “The Great Indian Kitchen” (2021). Malhotra, speaking on the film’s powerful storytelling and her involvement, expressed admiration for Kadav’s direction. She also shared an emotional connection to the film’s themes, recounting how a close friend’s personal experiences paralleled those of the protagonist. Malhotra’s performance is informed by real-life therapy notes lent by her friend, which she found deeply moving and inspiring.

In other television news, the makers of the popular show “Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye” recently filmed a special Krishna Janmashtami episode featuring lead actors Arjit Taneja and Sriti Jha. The festive Dahi Handi scene was a vibrant celebration, ensuring high energy levels on set. Siddhant Chaturvedi, seeking to diversify his on-screen persona, will soon be seen in a more intense role as an angry young man in “Yudhra,” directed by Ravi Udyawar. This action-packed drama features Malavika Mohanan and Raghav Juyal, with Juyal playing his second antagonist role following acclaim in “Kill.” Produced by Farhan Akhtar, Riteish Sidhwani, and Zoya Akhtar, “Yudhra” stands out as Chaturvedi seeks to break away from his previous coming-of-age roles, aiming for a release on September 20.

Lastly, Alia Bhatt has been filming “Alpha,” a female-led entry into YRF Spy Universe, currently shooting in Kashmir. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film also stars Sharvari. The team is eager to continue the project after an initial schedule in Mumbai, with Sharvari expressing immense enthusiasm about the ongoing production. Her excitement reflects a deep appreciation for the opportunity to work on such significant projects early in her career, underscoring the prestige and expectations surrounding “Alpha”.
