Madhuri Dixit: Rediscovering Herself in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3

Madhuri Dixit, a name synonymous with grace and talent in the Bollywood industry, is poised to enthrall audiences with her upcoming role in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. In a candid discussion with ANI, the acclaimed actress opened up about the intriguing aspects of director Anees Bazmee’s latest project, which compelled her to take on this unique role.

Expressing her enthusiasm about her involvement in the next chapter of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa saga, Madhuri detailed her excitement about collaborating with Anees Bazmee once again. “It’s a very different role for me,” said Madhuri. “I’ve never played a character like this before, which allowed me to delve into a side of myself that I hadn’t explored until now. The experience was both thrilling and exciting, and working with Anees is invariably a joy. Coupled with a remarkable cast including Kartik, Vidya, and others, it was truly an amazing journey,” she added, highlighting her sentiments regarding the film.

Reflecting on what captivated her interest in the script, Madhuri revealed, “I loved the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa and thoroughly enjoyed Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 as well.” According to her, when Anees presented the idea for this film, she was immediately drawn to it. “Watching the film, you’ll understand why it’s so special. For me, the excitement was a pivotal reason for taking it up,” she elaborated, building anticipation for what promises to be an exceptional cinematic experience.

Madhuri Dixit’s illustrious acting career commenced with her debut in the 1984 film ‘Abodh’, where she starred alongside the late Bengali actor Tapas Pal. Despite the film not performing as expected at the box office, Madhuri’s performance garnered significant critical acclaim. It was, however, the 1988 blockbuster ‘Tezaab’ that catapulted her into the limelight, making her a household name across India. From there, her stardom only ascended, with hit films like ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Parinda’, and ‘Khalnayak’. She also ventured into unconventional cinema with movies like ‘Mrityudand’, showcasing her versatility as an actress.

Reflecting on her prolific journey and the milestones she has set in the film industry, Madhuri shared, “I was fortunate to work with the best directors and scripts.

. Getting roles that portrayed strong women and empowerment was something I actively sought out. I believe those choices paved the way for others as well.” She continued, “When I did ‘Mrityudand’, it was deemed unconventional and highly realistic at the time. People said such movies couldn’t be made in commercial cinema. Yet, I took that step.” Madhuri’s pioneering choices have undoubtedly helped blur the lines between art and commercial cinema, contributing to a landscape where content is king—a trend she finds remarkable.

Looking forward to the Diwali release of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, Madhuri expressed optimism about how audiences will receive the film. “I think Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will be a lot of fun for audiences this Diwali, and I hope it entertains everyone,” she remarked. Directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 continues the franchise’s successful blend of horror and comedy. With stars such as Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, and Triptii Dimri joining the cast, the film is one of the most eagerly awaited Diwali releases.

Set to premiere on November 1, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ is expected to face significant competition at the box office from another heavyweight release, Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, known for its unique blend of comedy and horror, offers an immersive and exhilarating cinematic experience, and expectations are high for this third installment.
