Manish Malhotra’s Fashion Extravaganza Graced by Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon in Varanasi

In a breathtaking display of traditional elegance and craftsmanship, celebrated Indian designer Manish Malhotra brought the city of Varanasi to a standstill with an opulent fashion show. The historic event glorified the timeless beauty of Banarasi sarees under the theme “Banarasi Saree – A Tapestry of Indian Culture and Craftsmen”. Bollywood icons Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon were the cynosures of all eyes as they walked down the runway, morphing into showstoppers for this extravagant affair.

The fashion show functioned as part of a two-day cultural festivity held on April 13-14, initiated by the Indian Minorities Foundation. This haute couture gathering was majestically set against the backdrop of the newly inaugurated Namo Ghat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along the sacred banks of the Ganges River in Kashi, better known as Varanasi.

Amidst the serene ambiance, Ranveer Singh captured hearts in a deep purple Banarasi Shikargah sherwani, styled to perfection. Kriti Sanon, on the other hand, looked nothing short of a bride in a regal red Banarasi silk lehenga. Their presence intensified the aura of the event, highlighting the profuse skill of the local bunkar committee, and celebrating the authentic weave of the Banarasi fabric.

Manish Malhotra took to social media, sharing snippets from the event through a skillfully curated reel featuring different frames and videos, capturing the duo as they paraded the ramp in their splendid Banarasi attire. In his post, Malhotra expressed sincere admiration for the Prime Minister’s development initiatives and lauded the indigenous craftsmanship that was so elegantly demonstrated through the fashion show. He underscored the theme of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local for Global’, echoing a sentiment that honors and elevates India’s rich textile history on a global platform.

The designer’s commitment to showcasing local talent and craft through such a significant event was palpable and widely appreciated. The fashion show radiated the essence of India’s heritage craft and textiles, with every weave telling a story of India’s artistic dexterity passed down through generations.

As the event concluded, it left an indelible impression, championing the loci of cultural heritage and captivating the fashion industry and enthusiasts alike.

In light of their professional endeavors, Ranveer Singh is set to reprise his role as the beloved Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s star-studded cop drama ‘Singham Again’. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Moreover, Ranveer has claimed the title role in Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated ‘Don 3’, expected to hit screens in 2025.

Kriti Sanon, reveling in the success of her recent film ‘Crew’, continues to captivate audiences. The ensemble cast, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu, presents a laugh-riot narrative set against the precarious aviation industry backdrop, leading three women into a labyrinth of unplanned predicaments and deceit. The heist comedy boasts names like Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma, with Saswata Chatterjee, Rajesh Sharma, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda adding to the movie’s charm. Crew has been produced by the dynamic duo of Rhea Kapoor and Anil Kapoor for Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network, along with Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor of Balaji Motion Pictures.

The collective representation of film and fashion upon the ramp in Varanasi embodied an artistic synergy, where the celebration of Indian culture, art, and cinema came to life in a confluence of tremendous skill, beauty, and national pride.
