According to the hospital’s formal communique, “Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, at about 9.40 am. Shri Chakraborty was exhibiting weakness on the right side of both his upper and lower limbs. Upon his admission, the medical team conducted a series of necessary investigations that included laboratory tests and brain imaging in the form of an MRI. The diagnosis that emerged was an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident, more commonly known as a stroke, affecting the brain. Presently, we can confirm that Shri Mithun Chakraborty is fully conscious, well-oriented, and has partaken in a soft diet.”

The hospital further elaborated on the actor’s ongoing healthcare management, indicating that Chakraborty is under the meticulous observation of a multidisciplinary medical team. “He is being continuously evaluated by an experienced team of specialists, including neuro-physicians, cardiologists, and a gastroenterologist,” the statement read, attesting to the comprehensive care he is receiving.
