‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ to stream on Disney+ release date and details


Mufasa: The Lion King, which released to tremendous success to audiences in theaters, is set to make its streaming debut on Disney+ on March 26, 2025. The film, a prequel to The Lion King(2019), explores Mufasa’s journey from an orphaned cub to the revered king of the Pride Lands.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, the film delves into Mufasa’s early life and his relationship with Lion Taka. Featuring stunning photorealistic animation and a powerful narrative, the movie expands the legacy of the beloved Lion King franchise.
The voice cast includes Aaron Pierre as Mufasa and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka, alongside Tiffany Boone, Kagiso Lediga, and Preston Nyman. Returning stars Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter reprise their roles from the 2019 remake. Blue Ivy Carter also makes her feature film debut.
The film was a box office success, grossing $709 million worldwide.
