In a recent turn of events, actor Parvin Dabas experienced a severe car accident that left him hospitalized and battling for recovery. The actor, widely recognized for his roles in National Award-winning film ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ and Amazon Prime Video’s series ‘Made in Heaven,’ has been recounting the alarming details of his ordeal. Dabas, who is married to Bollywood actress Preeti Jhangiani, known for her role in ‘Mohabbatein,’ provided an in-depth account of the incident and shed light on the crucial need for road safety awareness.
On the early morning of September 21, Dabas was returning home from his office in Khar. Confined to a late-night work schedule, he found himself driving at around 5 am on the streets of Bandra. Dabas revealed to Bombay Times that the accident caught him off guard and left him deeply shaken. “I was found lying unconscious by two boys,” he recollected. “They made me sit on the sidewalk of the road. I remember hearing them talk about calling an ambulance and soon after, I was taken to a nearby hospital.”
Dabas attributed the accident to the blinding high beam lights from an oncoming vehicle, which obscured his vision and led him to crash into a road divider. “I was driving and at one point because of the high beam lights from the vehicle on the other side of the road, I couldn’t see the divider, and I crashed into it,” he stated. This unfortunate incident underscores the dangerous impact of improper use of high beam lights, a point Dabas feels strongly about.
“We need to educate people more about driving with high beams on. There have been many occasions when, while driving with my wife Preeti, I have expressed concerns about high beams causing accidents. That day, I was returning from work and wasn’t speeding, yet the accident happened,” he elaborated.
Following the incident, Dabas was rushed to Holy Family Hospital in Bandra where he was treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He was discharged on September 25 and began his journey towards recovery. His wife, Preeti Jhangiani, has been a steadfast pillar of support through these distressing times. The couple initially chose not to inform their young sons about the accident, fearing it would unduly worry them.

“Preeti has been a solid support. She has managed to deal with the situation well. Initially, we didn’t tell our sons about the accident, but they got to know from their friends. My older son received a message from his friend saying, ‘Sorry to hear about your dad,’ and he thought I had passed away. Then, Preeti told them about the accident and my condition and calmed him down. The incident has helped me appreciate my life and family more,” Dabas shared.
Since returning home, Dabas has been under strict medical supervision and advised a rest period of ten days. He is currently taking medication to manage symptoms of vertigo and moves around with the assistance of a cane. “I am taking pills for vertigo because I feel dizzy every time I get up. I am not walking around much, and whenever I do, I am taking the help of a cane. I have been called for a follow-up after a few days,” the actor explained.
The ramifications of the accident have extended to his professional life as well. Dabas, who is the co-founder of the professional panja league, has had to postpone the upcoming season of the arm-wrestling event, which was initially scheduled to take place in Mumbai next month. The delay is necessary to give Dabas the required time to heal and regain his strength.
This harrowing experience has not only marked a challenging period in Parvin Dabas’s life but also serves as a critical reminder of the importance of road safety. Dabas’s appeal for greater awareness and education regarding the use of high beam lights on roads is a message that resonates strongly, highlighting an often overlooked yet significant aspect of driving safety.
As Parvin Dabas continues to recover, his story serves as a poignant reminder of how quickly life can change and the importance of family and resilience in the face of adversity. His experience is a call to action for safer driving practices and a testament to the support and strength that loved ones provide during times of crisis.
