Record Sales Mark the Eve of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Premiere

With just hours remaining before the highly anticipated premiere of “Kalki 2898 AD,” the film’s producers are generating significant buzz by sharing impressive pre-sales figures on social media. The film features an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, directed by the acclaimed Nag Ashwin.

Among the notable revelations, Cineworld Cinemas, the leading cinema chain in the United Kingdom, announced that they have sold more than 20,000 tickets for the film’s premiere and the first two days of screenings.

“The game is on! Over 20K+ tickets sold for #Kalki2898AD Premieres + Day 1 and Day 2 only at @cineworld. UK premieres tomorrow. Bring the kids – they’re sure to have a great time!” the cinema chain shared via their official Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, the film is also showing tremendous pre-sale performance in North America, according to the latest updates from the producers. The number of tickets sold across North America has surpassed the 100,000 mark, and pre-sales have already exceeded three million dollars.

A tweet from @prathyangiraus, a key promoter in the region, exclaimed: “This is Prabhas’ World… and we’re all just LIVING IN IT! 100K+ Tickets sold for #Kalki2898AD Premieres.”

While detailed figures for ticket sales within India have not been officially disclosed, several news reports are highlighting ticket prices for various premium venues. According to Mint, tickets at Maison INOX: Jio World Plaza in Mumbai are selling for as high as Rs 2,300 each. Other premium theaters like The INOX: Insignia at Atria Mall, Worli, and PVR ICON: Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel are priced at Rs 1,760 and Rs 1,560 respectively, excluding taxes.

Adding a significant twist, the Andhra Pradesh government has lifted the cap on ticket prices specifically for this film. According to the government order, the number of daily screenings has been increased to five from the usual four for the first 14 days after the release. Ticket prices for single-screen theaters have been raised to Rs 75, while multiplex tickets can now be charged up to Rs 125. These regions alone, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, have reportedly generated over Rs 27 crore in advance sales.

In another comprehensive report by the Indian Express, it is stated that over 1.4 million tickets worth Rs 38 crore have been sold, and the film is projected to make around Rs 50 crore in advance sales. When combined with international pre-sales figures, estimated to be around Rs 60 crore, the film’s first-day worldwide collection is expected to range between Rs 180 crore and Rs 200 crore.

Should “Kalki 2898 AD” surpass the Rs 200 crore mark on its opening day, it will join the elite club of Indian films that have achieved such an opening, a list that includes SS Rajamouli’s “RRR” and “Baahubali: The Conclusion.” Moreover, Prabhas-starrers like “Salaar,” “Adipurush,” and “Saaho” are also among the top 10 highest-grossing films on opening day in Indian cinema history.

Reportedly produced with a towering budget of around ₹600 crore and featuring a runtime of 181 minutes, “Kalki 2898 AD” is set to be released in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The pan-Indian film, produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, is slated to hit screens worldwide on June 27.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the film promises a visual treat with music composed by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography helmed by Djordje Stojiljkovic. With such robust pre-sales and an impressive cast and crew, “Kalki 2898 AD” is poised to make waves not just in Indian cinema but on the global stage as well.
