Shehnaaz Gill Defines Style at the Grand Finale of Lakme Fashion Week

On the fifth and ultimate day of the widely celebrated Lakmé Fashion Week x Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the charming and vivacious actress Shehnaaz Gill captivated audiences as she stunningly debuted as a showstopper for fashion designer Diksha Khanna. The show’s grand finale was a spectacle of style and elegance, with Shehnaaz, known for her infectious energy, steering the runway and stealing the show.

Wearing a chic and striking baggy jumpsuit with stylish strap sleeves, complemented by a layered jacket that added an extra dash of flair, Shehnaaz epitomized the collection’s theme: “Asymmetrical Precision.” This fashion line featured a palette of serene blues and fluid silhouettes that perfectly echoed the tranquil depth of the ocean.

But it wasn’t just her captivating runway appearance that made headlines. Post-show, during a candid interaction with the media, Shehnaaz expressed her perspective on what style truly means to her—a sentiment that resonated with many and swiftly became a topic of conversation across social media platforms. She professed, “I think when a person gets rich that is when they can do such things. Everyone wishes to look their best and get styled. But money matters a lot. You can do anything if you have the money, otherwise, you cannot. I think I can carry any style comfortably. This is what style means to me.”

Her candid take on style being interlinked with affluence sparked a mix of nodding agreement and respectful counters, eliciting a larger dialogue on access to fashion in today’s society.

Away from the glamorous walkways and spotlight, Shehnaaz disclosed that she prefers simplicity in her everyday life. The actress, who champions relatability, shared that her at-home wardrobe consists mainly of comfortable shorts and T-shirts, an immediate shift from the extravagance of designer attire. Yet, she does not hesitate to dabble in fashion’s dynamic world, stating that every day presents her with the opportunity to experiment with new looks and experiences.

With a fervor for fashion, Shehnaaz expressed her desire to try various styles, exuding confidence in her ability to make any outfit look enticing. “I am experimental, make me wear anything and I’ll carry it very well,” she remarked, reinforcing her versatile fashion sense that refuses to be pigeonholed into a single aesthetic.

Beyond the glitz of the fashion industry, Shehnaaz has also been making significant strides in the world of cinema. She was most recently featured in the film ‘Thank You For Coming’, starring alongside Bhumi Pednekar, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila, and Shibani Bedi. This film marked its inauguration at the prestigious 46th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2023, an accomplishment illustrating Shehnaaz’s range as an artist. Furthermore, Shehnaaz made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, which also starred Salma Khan, Pooja Hegde, Ventakesh Daggubati, and Bhumika Chawla.

Her ascent to stardom was accelerated following her much-talked-about participation in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 13’, which skyrocketed her popularity and put her on the map as an audience favorite.

The intriguing blend of her grounded personal style and openness to sartorial exploration, coupled with her emerging film career, shapes the narrative of Shehnaaz Gill as an unpredictable force in the entertainment industry—a regular girl with an extraordinary influence. As Lakmé Fashion Week’s curtains drew to a close, Shehnaaz’s luminous presence as a showstopper reminded the audience of the unique space where personal authenticity meets the transformative power of fashion.
