The announcement came paired with a gripping new poster and a striking picture of Sood, which has undeniably heightened the curiosity and excitement among fans. Sood, in his post, promised that ‘Fateh’ would be the “nation’s best action film.” The post was engulfed with praise and adoration from fans and well-wishers, further underscoring the immense anticipation surrounding this project.

‘Fateh’ is a cybercrime thriller that delves into real-life instances of digital fraud. It carries a significant resonance with contemporary issues, making it a film that Sood describes as “crucial” and one that requires public attention. The film boasts a blend of expertise from both Indian and Hollywood crews, promising audiences an experience that includes unprecedented action sequences and a gripping storyline.

Produced by Sonali Sood under the banners of Shakti Sagar Productions and Zee Studios, ‘Fateh’ will explore the complexities and challenges surrounding cybercrime. The narrative takes inspiration from real-life occurrences and the plight of victims who have fallen prey to digital deception. The thematic importance of the movie lies in its timely relevance, as cybercrime is an escalating issue globally.

Sonu Sood’s inspiration for ‘Fateh’ originated from the many cybercrime cases he became aware of during the pandemic. Speaking on the subject, Sood recounted instances where people fell victim to frauds involving his name. “Whether it was for medical or educational needs, a lot of people tried getting in touch with me. There were [frauds] who told them that clicking on a link would connect them to me. The next thing you know, the money would go out of their [accounts]. It’s sad as they come from financially challenged circumstances.

. I remember once, a son based in Lucknow wanted an ambulance for his mother and was told he would get one if he clicked on a link. He had only ₹6,000, and that was taken away. Someone connected him to me, and I arranged that ambulance for him.”

The actor’s direct involvement with victims of such scams fueled his desire to tell this story. With extensive research forming the backbone of the script, Sood and his team dedicated nearly one-and-a-half years to piecing together the narrative of ‘Fateh.’ They consulted cybercrime officials and ethical hackers in their quest to bring authenticity to the screenplay, ensuring the representation of real-life actions taken to combat cybercrimes. “We spoke to the cybercrime officials, ethical hackers who work towards preventing such happenings. The whole team was aligned for the research. I would [and still do] get cases of cybercrime every day. We’ve registered a lot of FIRs throughout India. Cybercrime today is a big issue, so I thought we should make a film on it,” Sood elaborated.

With such a dedicated and research-intensive approach, ‘Fateh’ promises to be more than just a cinematic spectacle. It’s poised to serve as an eye-opener for many, bringing to light the disturbing trends of cybercrime that often go unnoticed or unreported. The film’s release date further intensifies the anticipation, as fans and critics alike look forward to witnessing Sood’s vision come to life on the big screen.
