Sunaina Roshan Discusses Family Resilience Amidst Hrithik and Sussanne’s Divorce

The Roshan family, a prominent name in Bollywood, has always been revered not just for their contribution to the Indian film industry but also for their resilience in facing personal challenges. Hrithik Roshan, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars with a massive fan base, has seen his share of ups and downs. From his rise to stardom with his 2000 debut in “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai” to personal struggles including his high-profile divorce with Sussanne Khan, the Roshan family has remained strong and united.

In a recent interview with Her Health Talks, Sunaina Roshan, Hrithik’s sister, opened up about the emotional rollercoaster their family has experienced over the years. She specifically spoke about the period during Hrithik’s divorce and their father Rakesh Roshan’s battle with cancer. She emphasized the close bond the family shares and their collective strength in facing adversities head-on. “We are fighters,” Sunaina said, “We give each other strength in our own ways. I’ve seen strength from my mom, my dad, and my brother. And for me, the fact that I could survive all this makes me believe that life is still beautiful, and I want to live it.”

The divorce of Hrithik and Sussanne Khan, who were once considered one of Bollywood’s most ideal couples, was indeed a difficult time for both their families. The couple, who married in December 2000, announced their separation in 2013 and subsequently divorced in 2014. Despite the enormous public scrutiny and emotional turmoil, the couple managed to handle the situation with grace and respect.

Sunaina’s reflections shed light on the importance of familial support and resilience. She shared how, despite the high-profile nature of Hrithik’s divorce, the family rallied together. “It’s the close family ties and inner strength that help us get through these challenges,” she said. The Roshans, known for their close-knit family values, evidently stood as strong pillars for each other during these tumultuous times.

Further insight into the family’s dynamics was provided by Zayed Khan, Sussanne Khan’s brother and Hrithik’s ex-brother-in-law, in a separate interview with Zoom. Zayed revealed the supportive nature of their relationship, which remained unwavering even after the divorce. Anytime he found himself in a dilemma, Zayed mentioned he would call Hrithik, fondly referred to as “Duggu,” for advice.

. “He is very good,” Zayed said, “Also, when someone doesn’t need to be nice to you for any reason, they will tell you things objectively, and he is one such person.”

Addressing the potential strain the divorce might have caused on his relationship with Hrithik, Zayed clarified that there was never an altercation or a drift. “We did everything that a brother-in-law should at that time. While it was and when it wasn’t… we were always the same because, at the end of the day, his children are my children. They have grown up in my hands. We are too mature for all of this. There are more important things. It was their choice, and what had to happen, happened,” Zayed remarked.

Both Hrithik and Sussanne have since moved on with their lives. Sussanne is currently dating Arslan Goni, while Hrithik is in a relationship with actress Saba Azad. Zayed commented on this new phase in their lives, highlighting the harmonious and mature approach the family has taken. “We are like the new modern family. It is crazy; there is extreme acceptance from everyone. It has taken a while to get there, but now that it is together, it is beautiful. We all party together, we get together under one roof, and have a ball,” Zayed added.

The Roshans’ journey, marked by significant highs and profound lows, serves as an inspiring testament to the power of familial unity and resilience. Despite the public scrutiny and personal challenges, the family has emerged stronger and more united, proving that with love and support, any obstacle can be overcome. Sunaina Roshan’s candid reflections remind us that, even in the face of adversity, life remains beautiful and worth living.
