Triptii Dimri Shares Insights on Portraying Zoya in ‘Animal’ and Her Future Prospects

Since its release in December 2023, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ has stirred considerable intrigue and conversation. At the India Today Mumbai Conclave 2024 on September 25, actress Triptii Dimri finally opened up about her decision to take on the role of Zoya in this Ranbir Kapoor-starrer. Even though her role was relatively small, it left a lasting impression on the audience, particularly her chemistry with Kapoor in the song “Pehle Bhi Main,” composed by Vishal Mishra. Her performance resonated so deeply that she was affectionately dubbed the ‘national crush’ and ‘Bhabhi 2.’

Discussing her role, Triptii revealed, “For me, I don’t like staying in my comfort zone. With ‘Bulbbul’ and ‘Qala,’ I found comfort, and while I love drama, being on those sets always energized me. However, when ‘Animal’ came along, I found it truly challenging. As an actor, it’s important to take on something that pushes you. Every time I get a role, I feel like it’s both scary and challenging. That’s exactly how I felt when Sandeep sir explained Zoya’s character to me. She seemed both brave and innocent at the same time, and that excited me. I’m always looking for roles that offer something different.”

Triptii also delved into how acting enriches her life by allowing her to explore a spectrum of emotions. She emphasized that understanding a character fully means accepting their good, bad, and ugly sides without judgment. This comprehensive understanding of a character offers her diverse life experiences.

In addition to her views on acting, Triptii spoke about her minimal presence on social media, citing the importance of authenticity and staying true to oneself. “I think this is just who I am as a person. I am a very private person. I sometimes don’t reply to my team. I just do my thing. I post when I feel like because that is real life. I don’t want to put a fake picture of myself.

. That is where you find a connection with the audience by showing them who you really are,” she said.

When asked about her dream role, Triptii expressed a longing to portray a mythological character. She was pleasantly surprised by the love she received following the raw and intense performance in Vanga’s thriller, and she took the opportunity to mention her admiration towards legendary actresses like Jaya Bachchan, Madhubala, and Meena Kumari.

On the professional front, Triptii has an exciting lineup. She is set to star in two upcoming films slated for release next month. First, she will be seen alongside Rajkumar Rao in ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video,’ set to release on October 11. Following that, she will appear in the third installment of Anees Bazmee’s successful ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ series, co-starring Vidya Balan and Kartik Aryan, which is set to release around Diwali.

Since the release of ‘Animal,’ various aspects of the film have been contentious. Speaking further at the Conclave, Triptii acknowledged the complex reception the film has garnered while also highlighting how she always strives to choose roles that deviate from her past work. “With every new role, I aim to push the boundaries and explore characters that present different facets,” she added.

Despite the controversies surrounding ‘Animal,’ Triptii remains unfazed and focused on her craft. Her interactions with the audience and the media have been relatively minimal, but that hasn’t stopped her from making a significant impact with her work. Her portrayal of Zoya continues to be a topic of discussion, both for its layered complexity and the notable chemistry with Ranbir Kapoor.

Reflecting on the broader scope of her career, Triptii shared how each role she undertakes contributes to her personal growth. “Acting lets you live multiple lives in one. It allows you to experience emotions you might never encounter otherwise,” she said. This insistence on varied roles underscores her dedication to evolving as an actor and not succumbing to typecasting.

In conclusion, Triptii Dimri’s insightful revelations at the India Today Mumbai Conclave offered a deeper understanding of her as an actor and a person. With a commendable balance of professional ambition and personal authenticity, she continues to carve a unique niche for herself in the Indian film industry. Her upcoming projects promise to further showcase her versatility and commitment to her craft. As audiences await her next cinematic venture, Triptii’s journey remains one to watch closely, reflecting both the challenges and triumphs of a dedicated artist in contemporary cinema.
