From the makers of Four More Shots Please! comes a new series about youth, rebellion and friendship. The trailer for Ziddi Girls, about five friends starting college at an elite Delhi institution, is here.
Directed by Shonali Bose, Ziddi Girls centres on a clique of freshers—played by Atiya Tara Nayak, Umang Bhadana, Zaina Ali, Deeya Damini and Anupriya Caroli—at Matilda House College, abbreviated as MH. Once the bastion of tradition, the campus is overrun by youthful mischief and fun, challenging old rules and conventions. Naturally, the authorities get alarmed, and start cracking down on the incipient ‘rebellion’.
“As ambition collides with resistance, tensions ignite, turning the campus into a battleground of ideologies. Yet, amidst the chaos, there are moments of laughter, heartfelt connections, and unshakeable friendships forged through fire and fearless dreams,” read a synopsis from the makers.
Besides the cast of newcomers, acclaimed actors Simran, Nandita Das, Nandish Singh Sandhu, Lillete Dubey and Revathy are also feature in Ziddi Girls. The eight-episode series is written and co-directed by Vasant Nath and Neha Veena Sharma.
Produced by Rangita Pritish Nandy and Ishita Pritish Nandy the banner of Pritish Nandy Communications, Ziddi Girls will stream on Prime Video on February 27.
